overhere in europe , the summer holiday is coming up, and we are planneing to head to the coast for some sun/sand/sleep.

You guys are really lucky there Fred. I read an article that on your side of the world the average vacation time off is 32 days per year, over here, about half or less!

I think I read that Italy lead in time off...

But back to the topic, we usually have off a week around thanksgiving which we spend near Memphis Tennessee (The Home of Elvis!) and for Christmas we usually stay home with all of the family...

Yeah, Europeans get very long vacations. The most time I've ever had off was 20 days.

Next week I go to Italy for about three weeks.

No summer holiday for me. Work keeps me going and I have a few more money burning desires coming my way...
In fall or winter however, I plan to study Spanish in Trinidad, Cuba.

I will be popping over to the mainland to do Amsterdam, Munich, Brussels then London before returning home.

I am planning to go to China for two weeks. I will drop by Qingdao and fly to Silkroad. Already having fun choosingthe perfect O shades for this trip. Since this is a backpack trip, I will probably start it with a pair of juliets.

Tsing Tao (Qing Dao), I think that's where they make one of China's more popular export grade beer, by the same name. That is the only beer from China I will ever drink. I've heard them reuse soy sauce bottles to bottle their lesser known beers and just stick a new label over the previous soy sauce label without removing them first. I wonder if they were ever disinfected.

Fred, I'll be gone for two weeks. I'm not sure if the route (Silkroad) provides any usable Internet connection and that's why I recently phrchased 2 Giga bite Memorystick for my out-of-date Sony Digital Camera.

I'll go to Qingdao and Beijing at the beginning of this trip and check out my emails and stuffs there.

wow Sul-Won, you're travelling along the Silk Road? that's awesome! lots of cities to pass by... hope you'll stop at Xi'An and see the Terracotta Warriors and the City Walls. i didn't get to travel up to Northern China the last time i was in the country but hopefully one day i'll get to see the Terracotta Warriors.

oh, and i know what you mean about deciding on what Oakleys to bring on a vacation, usually i end up bringing at least four pairs.

Beautiful Puerto Vallarta.

I was in Nuevo Vallerta, just north of Puerto Vallerta.
You got thousands of dollars stolen from you? You mean rip offs or actual money. I thought things in Nuevo Vallerta were cheap and in town, Puerto Vallerta, things were even cheaper especially for being touristy.

I won't go into all the details, but let's just say that the VERY expensive condo my wife and I rented in advance was uninhabitable when we arrived. We had to move to a hotel downtown, and the owners of the condo refused to refund our money.

Lesson learned: never pay for vacations with cash, always use a credit card and pay it off after. That way if things like this happen, you can dispute it with the CC company and in most cases get your money back.

4 days, 900km, one bike. i will go to my "holidays" in italia. My programm for the next 2 1/2 weeks: cycling, cycling, cycling. (-.-) Hope i come back in one piece and don' miss too much discussions. Iam afraid of thinking about logging in after two weeks absence, maybe i have to check the archive for knowing what was up. Hopefully there will be some new releases or the Ruby Juliet would be released. But I will know it in two weeks, if iam not able to find a hotspot.
