It's just the lighting that make them look like that. Mine look the same way in that kind of light. Just I didn't pay no $695US for them. That's ridiculous.

I think its just pure love~ =) The worse thing thats happening right now is, most of the Ruby Juliet on eBay are also called 1st Gen Ruby even though they're just orange-ish Ruby!

Here's a crazy question, why is Ruby so great? It's not even that great to look through. Sure, it looks pretty cool from the outside, but come on. It surely is not worth the prices being charged for a certain batch color. It's ridiculous. If you want a nice lens that looks awesome, go with Titanium Iridium or VR28 Black Iridium. But, I'm probably speaking on deaf ears.

all this Ruby talks has really turned RUBBISH !

some people siding the purple side and some disliking the base tint. Personally, I just want the Ruby to be Red (which is not)! not purplish nor yellow from any angle ...compared to the first generation FIRE (no change of color from any angle).

did any one received the new ruby juliet yet? is the lens lighter or darker than the old verson.

Cal your customs are, as always, amazing and those Fire lenses do look incredible. Did they originally come in the Plasma frame?

That said, I agree with Jamey B, that Ruby lenses are seriously overrated these days. Also all the obsession with 1st Gen and purple hues etc. is just driving the price up and allowing people with even the most basic of camera skills to make any lense seems more desirable in pictures. It's really not that hard to do.

Don't get me wrong, Ruby is a sweet color lens to look at and in a dark/black frame it sizzles. So I would be interested to see what the new release Ruby lenses look like and not only from the outside. But let's be sensible about how much to spend on a seemingly limited edition item, since as we've seen, there's always the possiblity of a re-release and there's no worse feeling than that after you've just spent and arm and a leg on what you thought was a once in a life time item, just to see it be mass-produced again. Ouch.

yesterday they postponed shipping to the 24th andi checked today and they postponed it til the 25th

The thing I noticed about the pic I posted was that there seems to be virtually no color variation across the entire lens.
