I just spoke to oakley on-line sale and they said they might have serial numbers but he wasn't sure because he dosen't have the information yet.

All in all, I very much would like to see how the lens would look like first before buying a pair =)

I still don't understand why they're $100 more. The price isn't inflated that much on other frames that have used Ruby. That's just Oakley being greedy. Sorry to say it. And if the reason is truly because they're LE, christ, give us something more with them like the blinders.

did they say it was limited edition or running production units?

hmmm in my opinion .......there will still be high demand for 1st gen lens .....so if you wanna get the 1st gen with low serials ...might have to pay few hundred more

I'll bet the lenses will be the newer fire-like ruby.

If the lenses are anything like the Ruby on the Scelzi Fives that I've seen... I'll pass. Hope they turn out nicely though.

I bet people will buy a bunch retail, sit on them until they go offline and then turn them around.

This is great and all (and I do agree that they don't look as good as the first gen ruby and that people will buy these up then wait to turn a profit on them) but what about those of us with huge heads who can't wear Juliets or Pennys for more than 10 seconds without getting a splitting headache? When do we get some XX or Romeo 2 ruby lenses?

There was a rumor floating around that they were re-doing the process for making Ruby to make it more RED.

I picked up a pair if they are crappy firey and with no serial then I will just return them.

I think this awesome. I needed an x-metal penny for awhile and now I can get those and complete all the collection for the frames. Either way, I'm glad that they are releasing these again regardless of the darkness of the lens. I do think the value for the originals will stay high.

I just tried to order one and they are very limited. They will start selling them next week. I am on a pre-order list and they will call me when they are ready to sell.
