I think Lee cut them out from a m-frame lens. Like I do with my xx x-metal.

The carbon/polished was my dream creation. I am really thinking about taking a few steps to try to create it but possibility is unlikely.

Alex: I have tried asking tons of optometrist to do the Cutting and grinding for me still no luck....

Once they see the lenses and the curvature, they will tell me its impossible, with reasons like the lens will splitter, the iridium coating will chip and they cannot control the cracking...so always a Flat NO!!

I have been dreaming of ages of having a +red lenses for my X metal sunnies....but still have yet to summon up the courage to do the cutting down to size with the dremmel myself...

i was hoping someone would start selling them soon....

PS: Oakley should really make the +red for the MD and X metal sunnies...i am pretty sure they would be alot of interest there....maybe one day i guess

with ruby quartz you can't even wear it w/o getting headaches so what's the point? if someone is able to do the cutting for me, ill pay them to do it!!! Has anyone had their lenses cut from the optometrist here?

Hey Alex, I was wondering how come that you offer to get the custom lenses when Lee posted the pics.

Than I checked you collection... WHOOA, these TiO2 XXXM's with red iridium lenses are crazy!

I got answer from my friend so he told me no problem. I don´t no why the other optomerist don´t do that. If u use a m-frame lens there is no problem with the curve.

Saw the hammer earstems on the X metal color Juliets. How was this accomplished? I never liked the straight stems of the original juliets nor the large lens face of the X metal XX. Now it seems like having the best of both worlds is a possibility.

Did you get a X Metal XX and changed the ear stems? Does it fit that way?

Yeah its the only option to do that with the hammers on a Juliet, at least on the x-metal color.

Hey I love the customs ...looking good ... but remember that all Oakley's lens are opticly correct... meaning the taper correct the lens per the frame base curve and tilt. This is not a simple thing .. each frame does have different optics unless you are using exaclty the same specs ... thump 2 and gas can for instance. Cutting a m-frame may change the optics enought that you might get significant distortion to the poit that you will not be able to where them for long periods of time, and distortion can be created just by not fitting the lens to the frame correctly(squeesing). Oakley spends 100's of Thousands to prevent this.

Now if you could careless about optics (XYZ is one of the biggest differances between Oakley and the rest of eyewear on this planet.) then bro go for it! I just worry about the long term effects it might have on your eyes.

thats just me ...i am anal .... I look at optics over anything else.

You're not alone, I'm the same way with the optics. If just for the shelf, it's alright but wearing them just so you'd look cooler is a no-no to me. Maybe it's because my eyes suck so much!

Eric you can also do Titanium and Plasma (using the Romeo earstems). You'd have to match up generations though which would be tricky.
