For the first time in the 31 year old firm history Oakley took over a company. Olive Peoples is since 1986 the trendsetter of the eyeglass industry, at it orients itself the industry giants such as Giorgio Armani and Ray Ban. and in the film metropolis carries everything that has rank and Glamour, for eyeglasses and sun glasses of olive Peoples. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, DIANE Keaton and Wim of wenders belong to the customers.

Nothing too exciting for me from OP since being acquired by Oakley, but they're re-releasing one of their most well-known sunglasses from Fight Club:

The originals are probably one of the most collectible glasses in the last decade and they're commanding crazy prices, so it's good their re-releasing these.

Wow, how dare they presume that their glasses trump the leather mars dominance in Fight Club!

Agreed. The Mars is far superior.

So is it okay for us to get a pair of OP's since they were bought by Oakley?

OP has always been great brand. Great styles offered. They should be bought whether you're a big fan of Oakley or not.

Imo in Fight Club, the Mars is the king of the accesoires! I also think that it suits Pit much better and it is just one of the craziest/best/most uncommon designs oakley has ever put out.

But I really like the design of the OP sunglasses for women, when it comes to these oversized sunglasses they're the design-leaders!

Anyone notice Oakley's Revo Relaunch? Pretty interesting...the Oakley design influence is definitely there. Subtle, but evident.

Yeah, the plastic frames look a lot like Eyepatches. The metals looked like Maui Jims. There were a lot of interesting things revealed in today's presentation, including a Carbon Fiber frame by Ray-ban. Too bad nothing was mentioned about the Elites.

I knew they were coming, as are the Arnette's. I'll have to take a look around.

Oliver Peoples is my favorite eyewear brand, slightly edging out Dita and Barton Perreira. (If you haven't looked at Dita's Grandmaster-2 or BP's Vanquest, you are doing yourself a disservice.) And I was one of the lucky ones to snag a silver/blood red OP-523. Should be in sometime next week. (Yes, as I've mentioned before, it's my favorite sunglass of all time. I am so excited.)

Yeah, but BP and Dita are interesting. Not my thing, but I'm sure a lot of people like them.

Congrats on the 523s. They're certainly a candidate for the eyewear "hall of fame".
