Ok, I have seen people mention doing something like this before, but I think with the right person leading it we could accomplish this. I think the members of o-review as a whole should band together and collectively vote/decide on a frame style, color, and lens color and make a single unified proposition to oakley. I would even suggest to see if we could possibly get "o-review" on the left lens as a custom o-review colorway. I know alot of people will push for a ruby juliet or something but I feel a o matter frame with a normal production lens will be more realistic as well as feasable for more members of o-review to buy so we can support the custom pair of glasses that we push for. I am getting bored with all the posts about send this and that and your dog to info@oakley.com Lets be happy collectors and if we want to make a difference lets do it in a unified voice to show JJ and Oakley the power of the people.

I think we could start with a frame style vote, then choose color and lens color. Power in numbers, and only when numbers choose thier battles will a victory be achieved.

I think it should be an XX or Splice, Matte Black frame orange icon with H.I. Persimmon or Black Persimmon lens with o-review etching in black on the lens

I agree with cferr on the Splice or MD.

But do we really think we need to banter back and forth about style and colorway options. If we even have a shot in h-e-double l in actually every getting a signature o-review eyewear ... don't you think we could get it approved by Oakley with an open-ended clause on style and color (like within $200 on any existing colorways).

Really, I think if it's any sort of possibility, the challenge rests in how and who is best to make the dream a reality. In other words, I think it's the connections and relationships instead of the power of o-review-numbers that might make something like this happen. My 2 cents.

Well we tried before and it did not worked...

We would have to order 500 of the same model and combo for it to work...

I wish it could be done, perhaps in the future, but for right now, customs will be the best way to go for everyone who wants to do their model.

gotta have a unique lens and it's one of the least produced I could think of thats why I said HI or Black. Gotta try it out first before you can say that, I could wear the HI on any day.

I agree with you oogie, but if we find a front man and then come up with a few options, so as to keep the sig glasses from being something only a few peopele would really dig. I totally love the splice but it is out of production so I think that would be a real shot in the dark. The xx and monsterdog ideas are cool. I would head this up but my connections are only to the local region rep so I would most likely not be the best mate for the job.
So what we have arrived at so far would be a simple, o-matter style with a baisc colorway and giving oakley options would be in our best interest of making this happen.

Well, 500 would be a good way to increase anyone's collection size. . . .

I also think that it could be a special that would be only sold online or something, so anyone could essentially buy it but it would be a custom for the members of o-review and we would be the ones to truely appreciate it. Just like the 25 years gas cans (i believe), and the london o store glasses, these things mean more to certain people than others.

Since we would be purchasing them in bulk(500) would they offer a discount or to us at wholesale, since that order would essentially be more Oakleys than an OPD usually carries?

Maybe sell most of them in Fred's store since he is a OPD.

My $ .02 worth...The main complaint here is that Oakley has gone too "fashion" and is losing "us" the fan base that made them what they are today. We need to pick a frame that is on the edge like a Splice (yes, i know it is discontinued). Show them what there core base wants. That is all, please return to your normal surfing...

I don't know, they're not losing me. At first, I was 100% against this whole fashion thing, but now, as they move further into it, I find myself liking most of the new designs. They may be fashion, but at least they're done in good taste. Not at all what I expected, having seen what the fashion market had to offer. So far so good, I say. As long as they don't do any shiny, Elvis-looking glasses with the holes along the side, I'll be fine with the new stuff. I say if you want stuff like the Splice, Plate, etc, go and get them. They're out there. If you don't like the colors, make customs(look at Dann, he's making customs out of frame colors that don't even exist!) But, I'm sure sometime or another, that a new OTT design will surface and make everyone happy again, except for the vintage guys(sorry Lee:) The RazorBlade rerelease was probably the last shot at glory for those guys.

Wow, that's more than I expected. Anyway, to sum it up, I'm gonna stick with them. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I'm sorry, but i think the monster dogs or the splices are the ugliest oakleys ever. If they EVER did produce a o-review custom, i would go something subtle like eye jacket, minute, racing jacket, half jacket, or maybe some of the wires. And if they DID, i would definitley pick up a pair.

ya im with ken on this i dont like the monster dogs. they dont fit properly for my size head. Splices are ok but I really think half jackets would be the best. My opinion the most well known and versitile pair. Get a nice pair of polarized XJL lens with the O-review logo etched. Now that I would buy and probably spend around 200-300$ (if its a limited edition model).

How can northeastern sports get a 100 splatter goggles made, but we can not get 200 made. I think we need to go w/classic look of crosshairs.

Crosshairs would be nice, but did they have to make the arms so ugly?? They also need some more colourways, like the o-review exclusive.

Crosshairs would be excellent. Orrrr, what about Fives 3.0? Theyre cheap already and after the custom price-jump. theyll still be affordable.

How 'bout a Blue Chrome/Ice HJ?

Yeah, I know Blue Chrome doesn't exist... but I also know one of you is gonna start photoshopping it as soon as he or she reads this.

This is great. We need to throw around a bunch of ideas and then what ever seems to be most popular put those into a actual ballot and vote, make a dead line and then start putting together our proposal for JJ and the other high up's @ oakley.

Meh, sorry to be a killjoy on this, but the last time we talked about this nothing got started because we didn't have the connections. I don't see it being any different this time around. We gotta make sure we got the connections that would allow the process to even start before we get our hopes up.

We can't even decide on lens colour and lens frame.
Much less get the oakley manufactured

Some prefer edging styling like splice , the others prefer Crosshair.

It's really a clash of both worlds.
