At last, the 0.3 Prototype (sensing its maturity) leaves the security of its doublewide lair to settle down in a home of its own...

That quite possibly might be the greatest presentation of the greatest Oakley ever produced!

Is that cube a prototype too? Like it hovers or something?

To All: Thanks for all the + feedback-thought you might like the setup

For Tick: its a reverse engineered hovercube.
(its just the adjustable legs, but I wanted it to look like it was floating so I raised the legs a bit-nice catch).

Thanks Eric, not quite excited about chasing down the last 3 less-inspiring official releases.

I think Rick has as many rare and hard to get R2's in that pic as there are stock color's! Now it just a monatary challenge to bring home the rest of that collection.

Okay, finally able to display all of my eyewear...Here are the pix to show the collection in all of it's majesty. Notice also, I cut some diamond plate vinyl for the bottom of the cabinet since the floors are really rough and will scratch things, so I gave it that industrial metal look...Makes a nice floor for the Scelzi drag related stuff

Floor Pic

Bottom Shelf (Gary Scelzi Items)

Fourth Shelf (Timepieces, Over The Tops, Coins)

Third Shelf (Straight Jackets, M Frames, Eye Jackets, Scars, Unknowns)

Second Shelf (Monster Dogs, XX, Gascans, Halfpints)

Top Shelf (X Metals/Metals)

Whole Cabinet

Thanks, it has been a labor of love...The bottom needed something to protect anything from getting scratched..Added a nice touch, especially for the drag racing items...

Thanks Bill, and really, thanks to ALL that have helped back and forth.

I kind of like the bottom with the Scelzi stuff. I try not to split up any O Matter, X Metal, and others, but had to with this. It just says...LOOK AT ME!!! Now I just have to get my car and R2 box signed by the man in November, and it will be real nice. Trying to outline the Funny Car body to make a decal of it too...

Josh,

I've always admired your stuff and acquisitions, but I must say this now : I have so much respect to how cautious, careful and detailed you are when it comes to organizing your stuff. Really a great job. Picking up a double-wide sure is impressive. But looking at what you've done, it shows that getting your hands on the tower doesn't do the whole work by itself. You gotta put some attention.

Really looks good. You should swing by the Montreal O-Store and see what I've done in terms of eyewear and watch merchandising, I think you'd like it a lot !

Now if only I can find a way to take one of the double-wides home... :P

Thanks again guys...It is certainly nice to get these compliments, I really never expected them.

Bronze, I have both up there. The left pair is the polished white camo limited MD, and the one to the right is my custom OCE Pearl w/Ice that is etched with my username.

Freesh, one of these days I will travel to Canada and check things out up there. I would love to see the way you have merchandised the store and your "collection". I find it funny when I go into stores and the display is so plain and lacking "POP" as I like to call it. Nothing drives me more nuts as to see a bunch of the world's best eyewear just laying in a display, or just thrown in and not really thought out.

We must agree with Alex. You really take the time to put some attention towards displaying your collection. Dawn and I try to do the same thing - our collection split up between three towers and no 2-unit displays to assist us. We only recently picked up a couple of the acrylic "tables" for the inside of the towers, so that was a real help.

You must be like me though...when you get a new pair, you go insane with trying to re-structure your shelves! Maybe once our Scars come back from their lens replacement, we'll take another set of pictures of our collection. All of our pairs that went out finally came home, and our buying is going to slow down quite a bit, if not come to a halt for a while. So we can finally get a "complete collection" photo that will stay current for at least a little while.
