Thanks Fred. And you're right, it's about having what you like. A collection you're happy with and proud of.

Eshan - Humble? That's quite a nice spread. Oh, and I would certainly consider that huge banner to be proper display stuff.

Defender - my, you have a lot of RX metal vaults. I like the way your wooden guy is saying "hey, check this out".

Yeah Defender. Thats quite a nice collection. Bigger than mine. You gotta put things in perspective...not too many people have any cubes or towers like that. And Eshan, thats a really nice setup, I wouldnt call that humble at all.

excellent stuff Defender and Eshan! like Fred and Phil says, it's not about the size of the collection but about collecting what you love and what you're proud of.

Yes, it's from ebay. I talked to the seller a few minutes after he added this item for auction and he sold it to me together with a few stands.

I agree, and to the lengths I have gone to proudly display my collection, your words are greatly appreciated!! I thank all of you for your words and suggestions and especially Jim for the reply to my pm the other day, I was truly shocked that he took time from his busy schedule to wish me well and share his words! I believe that Oakley isn't so much an obsession or collection as much as it is a lifestyle!

That is true. Many collections have approached art form.

Thanks Lee, I knew you're the one that will really appreciate it. I always envy your collection of vintage M-Frames and Zeroes. If one day you go crazy and decided to unload your vintage collection don't forget to let me know. :)

Rick, ya I think this case is the grandad of all cases.

Yoko , your new display was called "BIUM" they were available from 1990 - 1993 ( in europe )

there were two bigger ones , called the TRIUM and QUADRIUM

and those were the pre-alu/industrial design displays

seing that one brings back good old memories....

*deep sigh*

( big smile on my face )

Thanks Lex...I need to update it already though...I added 2 more pairs lastnight, and will be getting another pair tomorrow...I bought the dark chrome w/ice straight jackets, and a pair of corteen w/gold eye jacket (the original ones)...The ones I will buy tomorrow are the Mag Switch Pearl W/Fire!!! That will complete my Mag Switch collection, with the exception of a rare Pearl W/Ruby...I saw a guy at HQ that had a pair and I damn near wet myself!!! They were the sickest Ruby I have ever seen!!
