My co-worker at one of my other workplaces has been anticipating the rumored Oakley leather jackets. Anyone out there who works for Oakley got any info? I'm kind of curious as well. I've been trying to get information about them for some time and most answers I've gotten have been pretty vague.

when i was at the new NYC SoHo store, i saw a leather jacket that looked like it was styled after Army Field Jackets, which is to say it's a collared jacket that's a few inches past waist length with one utility pocket on each breast and slash pocket handwarmers. i'm not sure if i saw any shoulder epaulets. it was a brownish, faded distressed leather. i didn't try it out when i was there because that day was crazy hot and it would be silly to try on a leather jacket in a store that didn't have air conditioning yet. besides, it was $600, which i couldn't afford to begin with anyway.

i'm not sure if this leather jacket is new, but i don't believe i've seen anything like it from Oakley before.

I saw a leather jacket in the Fall apparel catalogue, so I would think it would out soon.

Awesome. I was hoping that Oakley would eventually release leather jackets. I was hoping for something along the lines of a leather blazer styled after the 9MM Jacket. I love mine and I love the style. C'mon Oakley, give me a Leather 9MM Jacket. You know you want to...

Dude - I don't even care what it costs....I'll take the XXL and have it custom fitted/modified to fit me - how absolutely friggin' cool....

Hopefully it has the X-metal circle design on the back....totally worth whatever they ask...

It's a brown distressed leather looking jacket.
I think retail is around 500-ish.

Man, there goes something that seems like a must have. I've been wanting a leather jacket for a while and I just kind of let it go. Just never really found any I really ever liked that much. But I have a feeling this one will solve that problem.

THE 9 MM JACKET IS MORE OF A TRENCHCOAT , WITHOUT A HOOD , YOU HAVE ACTUALLY 2 MODELS , ONE WITHOUT A ZIPCLOSURE , ONLY BUTTONS, AND THE NEW 9.3 MM JACKET THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE A FIREMAN'S JACKET WITH GREY PIPING ON IT, VERY COOL AP CLOSURE ITEMS, THIS ONE COMES WITH A ZIP. THE 9MM IS MORE SMOOTH BUT A GUY THAT IS NORMAL BUILD CAN FIT INTO A SMALL/MEDIUM SIZE

Fred described the same one I saw. It was in the printed fall apparel catalogue, not online. And if you've you've ever seen one of those catalogues, the pictures are not very helpful. They don't use photos, they have cartoon representations. Makes it difficult to tell how things will really look.

I'm after the original 9mm jacket, similar to the new one with the metal icon, but it has a stitched icon instead and isn't as shiny, i have two long coats which are like 9mm but really long and the icon is in the centre of the back, not on the chest, i think theyre 10mm, but then there was a 10mm released a bit later on and it was a hooded shell top sortathing.

I'll be taking a serious look at that leather jacket, it makes sense after they started making nice leather shoes, which by the way are hard to get in the uk. It'll be nice to get back to oakleys military style of doing things instead of some of the lame fashion clothes that have been churned out lately.

Motorbike leathers would be a good next step to compete with the likes of dainese and alpine stars etc...

i think i've seen one of the 9mm jackets last winter, but if someone has a good photo of one, that'll be great.

as for the Salvage leather jacket, i'll hold off judgement until i try it on i guess... from what i remember, it looked interesting with the faded/distressed leather, but i wasn't entirely sure of the styling. i'll have to try it on. as for leather jackets in general, i love Schott NYC jackets, i have five leather jackets from them. if Oakley can make something as classic as the 141 zip up cafe racer, i'm sold!

My 9MM has both closures. It has a zipper, then a button up flap. It also has a button out fleece lining. It's not really like a trenchcoat, but more like a blazer. It only goes down to around your butt. The 10MM jacket was the trenchcoat, it went all the way to the ankle. The 9MM is a very classy looking jacket. I get compliments all the time. So yeah, that's why I would like to see a leather jacket styled after the 9MM. It's just classy and good looking.

the SALVAGE leather jacket is top notch ! i've tried them on , and they fit like a glove. i had the honor of wearing a WHITE one ( very rare ) , but sadfully i was told that this colour doesn.t see daylight ever again. :-(
The fit is sleek , it is not a long jacket , kinda like a letterman - type of style
