With the gascans, riddles, dartboards, crosshairs, wardens, etc. looks like oakley's trying to break into the more fashion-forward community. The montefrio is heading in this direction. I saw them at the Hollywood O store, they had samples of the black, brown tortoise, and green tortoise. The green tortoise = WOW!

Anyone have additional pics of the other colors? The white seems like it will be interesting.

I have them on my head right now. Brown Tortoise. They are sick. Just wait until you see some of the ads featuring Shawn White. Sick. All colors are killer in this glass!

Oakley has now Officialy relaesed the Montefrio.

Plus I also have a feeling there are some more new members who work at HQ floating around.

Hey Ben & LA Welcome to the site! I hope you guys are insiders or at least big fans of Oakley. You'll love it here! We're like one big happy fam-O-ly! Also, it's good to hear more positive stuff about the Montefrio.

So, what magazine can an ad collector like myself expect to find the Montefrio ads in then since O ads are getting harder to find nowadays?

Skate/Surf/Snow magazines, I'd guess.

I'll order mine now so I can get it at the current going rate then.

I'm starting to have a bad feeling that these will slide off easily as the Gascan does due to short stems.

Personally, I think the green tortoise will be my next purchase!
I wonder why they're not listed on line?

I tried them on, and they fit ok, despite my fat head.
I also took pics with my camera phone, but seeing how the pics are online, it doesn't matter.

likewise, i like them too... people who complain about oakley developing a broader product range have to be careful not to sound like a "when i was a kid.../back in the day/ect.." kinda person.

People have to keep in focus that staying with a "revolutionary" style or design forever, eventually makes it not revolutionary... they have already done the OTT and now they are trying their hand at something else for a while. I think they are doing quite well.

I can't wait to try the montefrio on, and then buy them.

What does Montefrio means anyway? What language or origin is it?
