It's only June, and you're promising to stop already. Shame, we need to pressure you more.

Supposedly these were in a shop in Hawaii, but sold out very fast. They had other exclusive Asian fit models.

I'm 99% sure that it's not. It's the Chinese new year that's in february.... that's probably what you're thinking of.

i think Todd's right...

chinese has chinese new years, and it's not fixed on which date each year.., while if i remember correctly, japanese also has japanese new years.

this results from the calendar of cultures respectively.

lastly, i'm not even talking about the chinese version of new years, it's the christian year i mentioned above, still 6 months away(opposed to 8 months in chinese calendar) for the year and i dunno if i can resist from buying more oakleys.. :D

.......must....stop.....

If the Chinese are having a new year, I'm Chinese! & I'm drinkin' champagne! If it's the Japanese then, domo arygato! Now where's my champagne!

yeap, those ruby unknown is pretty rare.

it's a japan exclusive and it's even rare in japan like Rick told us all in another thread.

get them while you see em. you'd probably never gonna see them twice.

(first to put the peer pressure) lol

If you don't already have them...which is most of us. Then the decision is simple. Buy them. :)
or don't and let someone else wear them for you.

Yes snap them up. Even if you decide they "aren't you" another member here is wanting to get them badly & will gladly buy them and pay all shipping costs.

I am having fun wearing mine at night and inside public places, more fun than any pair of oakley's for a long time, it's a shame this lens color (ruby clear) is so hard to come by in the US.

Keep in mind this is head on with a flash from a camera that was about two feet in front of us. Notice on Dawn's lower left lens that you can see some of the red/pink hue.
The lens, like most other redish ones, changes a bit from one anlge to another, as well as with lighting.

The Ruby Clear is a very difficult and frustrating lens to photograph. That's all I have to say at this time.

shoot it at an angle without a flash. best to use a small tripod or something, and set the camera for best exposure. here is my shot of my monster dog ruby clear, and you can see the color while it still being transparent

And depending on the amount of light, they appear darker, very hard to take pics of like Rick said.

Yeah, I'm a pretty capable photographer if I do say so myself, but what I mean is capturing that perfect shot of the Ruby Clear is very difficult given it has so many "personalities".

I am pretty happy with these ones...but there is much room for improvement.
