When I shake up my time bomb it seems to be making quite a lot of noise. It doesn't sound good. Can anyone tell me what it is supposed to sound like when you "shake" it???

Are you supposed to shake it? I'd be worried about the mechanism taking repeated shocks like that. The self-winding should be from natural wrist movements (keep your jokes to yourselves, please).

"Shake" is probably too strong a word. With any movement, do you hear the mechanism? Mine is making what seems to be a lot of noise. Even when I just....no jokes....give it a little movement I can hear the internal mechanism "whirling" quite loudly. I think I'm going to take it into Oakley tomorrow just for peace of mind.

I can hear the mechanism on mine if I hold it about 10 inches from my ear. Not a loud noise though and sounds normal to me.

Does it seem like a "smooth" sound? Mine is sounding a bit coarse. Almost scratchy.

Yeah, it is does that to mine too; a kind of coarse scratchy whirring sound. It works fine though, and isn't noticeable during everyday activities, so I don't think it's cause for worry.

Mine too, no worries. It's just turning a gear, which makes noise.

same here... mine makes a slight grinding, whirring noise. it's perfectly normal, it's the O Engine turning... like Iggy says, it's not noticable during normal daily activities. i wouldn't worry about it.

I thought the same thing when I first got my timebomb. I think it is just the mechanism winding.

I catch my self doing that with my wrist sometimes just out of habit even when I'm not wearing it....the winding motion just becomes hsbit.

I dropped by the Lobby store to hear the other time bombs, and yeah, my sound is just the beautiful sound a Time Bomb winding up. There is nothing as cool as a Time Bomb in my opinion. Love It!

See....now where else on the planet can you go to get friendly advice on the sweet, sweet sound of your own personal Timebomb without the FBI or Interpol knocking down your door??

If he weren't in prison, I'm sure Ted Kazinski could appreciate the subtle irony.
