Collectors Spotlight - October 2024 - Tdog
Menifee CA
Tdog: Trevor Douglas

I have been collecting since around 2012-2013, around the time I joined the military.

Most definitely being in the military, and seeing everyone around me wearing Oakleys. I thought they looked really cool and had to get a pair. I also love what the brand stands for. After buying my first pair, and after losing a few after that, I decided I want to take it more seriously and keep ahold of them - thus the collecting began.

My first ever pair of Oakleys were all black Radar Paths.

Wearing out / accidentally leaving my heritage edition Oakley RazorBlades at a gym. So mad about it! 10 years later buying another pair at 3-4 times the price, but I had to have them back.

I most definitely have to be getting ahold of a pair of the Oakley Plantaris whenever it comes out or is available in the US. Or... the next project 2075 release, whichever comes first.

The jewel of my collection would have to be the newest edition: The Moon Veil. Absolutely love it, will never take it out of the box. Too expensive! lol

Being that I live in California, and it is close in proximity, I would have to say Oakley HQ on 1 Icon would be my favorite Oakley retail spot.

I have not customized anything yet, but I am not opposed to the idea.

Books, pins, shirts, shoes, lens bags, anything I can afford / get my hands on.

Love being outdoors when I can be. Like to go bike riding / snow boarding / running / swimming. I used to collect coins as well.. but that stopped a long time ago.

Ensure you have a budget, be patient, do your research! Know what you're looking for before you buy. Don't rush anything... keep ahold of them / don't lose them. I should really take my own advice, haha.

They think I'm absolutely insane, it's gone overboard, I have a problem, and something is wrong with me.

I have two. My first memory would be walking up to Oakley Head Quarters building at 1 Icon, Foothill Ranch. Seeing that building and everything in it and around it was astonishing. Going to the back and walking through all the history that Oakley has made was absolutely incredible! My second is Snowboarding for the first time at big bear mountain in a pair of Oakley snow goggles.

Absolutely honored to have been chosen / selected to be the first person in the collector spot light after so many years. Love seeing everyone's collections on this site. So cool to see so many Oakley collectors / enthusiasts all come together in one place. Love this site!

Great idea and welcome to the Club TJ, love that metal cup was that some kind of collectors box that I missed in the UK?

Thank you I appreciate it! So funny story about that cup, and a couple other items. I got it from the same guy that sold me my Mega tower. He was old friends with a guy that worked at Oakley.. and he told him about me. He said hereā€¦ I got a few things him. And he handed them down to me. I was estatic!!
