Unfortunately it was always gonna sell out with only 100 units and good marketing. The real test is what it does from here.

I honestly don't think this moonveil is such a fail. In general, many other premium brands can sell crappy shoes, a handbag or a hat for 2-3k bucks. So when you think about it, getting two pairs of glasses and a cool techwear headgear with cool stripes and inscriptions for $1,500 is not such a bad deal at all.

I would gladly buy this hood solo - it would probably lookin sick with Oakley Mars or madman

Fair, I just feel like I have to sit by the sidelines with a brand I used to really eat up. Even the normal released are priced in a way where I can't really envision picking much up when it's new.

Things like this would be cool to have for the collection, so I don't dislike the concept, but unlike other oddities like the AP Leg Holster, I could actually get them, and for a reasonable price. I don't think I'm alone in feeling the pain in my wallet lately.

I acknowledge this thing is one of the items that is difficult to price out by its components, but the premium it carries from a consumer standpoint is obviously high. How much is a Flex Scape at retail? $375 each? How much would we figure the hood would be? In simplistic terms, the differential between them is the premium you pay for the limited edition-ness and the cache of the marketing. Even at Oakley’s highest pricing on previous products, I can find some defense in their pricing structure, no matter how thin the reason may be. But this is as egregious a gouging expedition as they’ve ever done.

Not justifying the price...but that knit piece was very expensive to develop/make.

Loved reading everyone’s thoughts and opinions on this. I am most definitely feeling the pain in the pockets right now. I woke up 5 hours earlier than what I normally would just to make sure I had a chance at getting one. They sold out in all of 3 minutes, it was insane!
I just had to be an owner of this crazy cool piece! I absolutely love it!

I get it guys. This stuff is way beyond healthy at this point. I played the game and didn't even think I'd get one. I wasn't even that interested but I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Oakley Japan still has it in stock. The Japanese have more common sense

I think there is a surplus because the price is close to the average monthly income of Japanese people and so people cannot buy it.

Nice. Thanks for the photos. Still a bit high, but nice to see the presentation and all the extras. Feels like some care went into it. Would be nice to have a non collector package later on with a more palatable price point for actual use.

Looks like it wasn’t even available in Canada. It never showed up on the site day of release & as a VIP I never got an email. Ah well. At 100 units and with how poorly they run the MUZM program I wasn’t even going to play the game.

Pretty cool piece. Does make me wonder what a Medusa would retail for if launched today.
