No real spoilers, just my opinion.

So now that X-Men has been out for a whole weekend and quite a few here have prob run off to see it leaving a few behind who haven;t decided to see it or not I have this to say amongst all the Ruby and Oakley product placement furvor. Don't believe the hype. It's def not the "Last stand" and it's def not the best one as I've been hearing from quite a few people.

Ratner's directing is actually very sloppily paced. He doesn't handle multiple characters as well as they could have been and just couldn't find the time to devote to anyone single character who had needed it as I see a few should have had more story around them again as others had in the past.

They prob didn't need to introduce as many new characters as they had – most of the Brotherhood could have remained background eye candy for the quessing.

Jean Grey and the Phoenix were squandered to what the real ability and prupose of the character could have been. Either deal with Magneto one last time and leave Jean dead or deal with Phoenix and leave the Brotherhood out.

I still don't understand why Fox couldn't just wait for Singer to return after Supes and Logan's Run and do an X pic to fill the void introducing new characters, a dif villian and allowing Jean's death to stir a while longer before returning to it.

I agree. Fox should've waited for Singer to get back from those other projects. In X2, they made such a big deal about Singer directing it so that there was continuity and consistency. I guess they wanted to hurry up and put this out to bring in the big bucks. X3 would make the money whoever was directing it. So it hurts the fans the most I guess.

I liked it because it had something the other two films lacked: GOOD action. Don't get me wrong, the Nightcrawler intro and the Wolverine/Deathstrike fight scenes were good, but the action overall with both the first two were rather tame. Boring at some points, even.

Everyone says there should be more characterization, which is usually true, but the main characters had characterization up the ying yang the past two movies (all except poor Cyke who pretty much was written out of the last two movies despite having potential in the first), so doing more of the same stuff would've made the movie "blah" in my opinion.

The studio wanted to throw everything in because it was their last movie. And despite the grand opening X3 received, they're not ready to move on a forth film yet ( http://www.superherohype.com/news/x-mennews.php?id=4310 ). As a fan, I'm glad they did get as much in as possible if the franchise doesn't continue.

The comic book movie furvor will die soon. It was nice to see it start happening and once X-Men and SM went big on the silver screen every publisher sold the rights to every property they had to the point where the market will get over saturated with paneled pages come to life to the end of the decade and into the next. A few will be exceptional as some have already been. Some good to a very enjoyable point that makes them great to watch. Others will be hyped to high hell and only make small dents along the way and cause the movie-goer floods to tire of the genre.

They just need to see if they kill the franchise with Magneto and Wolverine solo films first. I know Wolverine can strike a trilogy of his own, but c'mon, a Magneto prequel! Christ.

I've also read Ratner is attached to a New Mutants flick already. Cable/X-Force New Mutants or just the New Mutants?

Are they really doing a Magneto prequel?

Wolverine movies will definitely work out successfully. Wasn't it included in Hugh Jackman's contract that he would be bound to doing Wolverine movies too?

Yeah, Hugh Jackman will be doing the Wolverine solo movie. IIRC, he'll get a producer credit as well.

The only other spin-off talk I can recall is Storm. And that's because of Halle Berry's ego and the need for a part larger than it has to be. Magneto and Wolverine are all that's confirmed right now.

Storm movie would be pretty boring. An origin of Wolverine movie would be awesome!

How is there a Cable, when both Scott and Jean are dead.
I am more of a Batman Comic fan than anything else and I understand that there is sometimes need for "artistic" licensing but I disagreed with that movie on so many levels. It was just full of CGI if anything.

Example: Military using non lethal force, out comes the XMen killing everyone

Maybe they are trying to date back to the 70's where the Brotherhood were seen as good and the XMen were seen as evil. But even then lines ahve been crossed.

They left themselves a back door if that is the case. If you stayed until after the end credits they left a teaser for the possibility of a 4th.

The Storm spinoff will star Helen Hunt & Bill Paxton who recruit Storm to make tornadoes in a lab so they won't have to chase them. The storyline, however, will include a lot more flying farm animals. It should be awesome

Aren't they supposed to introduce Venom in the next Spidermand? I would like to see Azrael (sp?) in a Batman movie.

I had the Joy of seeing the new PIXAR film CARS today. Now I'm a big lover of everything pixar but serioulsy they have taken Animation to a truly amazing level combinded with some really nice story telling. This film really drew me in and there were times I felt i was part of it.
It leaves the other film studios in the Dust.
Check it out you will not be dissapointed.

To say its better than Nemo and Monsters Inc in story is tuff, they are all equals. But when it comes to the Animation quality it's light years ahead.

Just got back & Superman was very good! 2h 40m & worth all of it. Not much O but I do believe on of Lex Luter's henchmen was wearing an Oakley Goggle & someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Lex Luther himself was wearing Crosshairs! I was happy to see the film really kept the same spirit as the first one & they left plenty of loose ends for the next one. Go see it!
