Are there any film prop collectors out there? I’ve always appreciated the hobby but have not gotten too deep into it due to the sheer cost of good items.

One of the big names out there is John Azarian. He owns a whack of amazing stuff, including the screen-used X-men Juliet glasses and the visor, which of course he got from PropStore London:

Part of his collection:

I don’t have much stuff, but I have managed to get the X-men 1 Visor and X-men 2 Penny props directly from Oakley, even though it isn’t screen used. I have a couple Oakley glassses that were used in the filming of the 2004 Punisher movie, some SI boots from the filming of GI Joe. Some other misc small items from random movies.

The rest is licensed stuff like lifesize busts, prop weapons like Hellboy’s Samaritan, Captain America shield, etc.

Most is out of my price range, and even normal Oakley is pushing it. Cool to see the originals all lined up like that.

I find it all very cool and interesting. That being said, the cost usually has me looking more at replicas.

Because of the prices, the closest I can do is collecting original comic book art pages. And then some of them are a real stretch also.

Profiles in History hosts some of the coolest movie prop auctions. The site is gearing up for the Transformers movie auction:

Some interesting lots that have Oakley items include the following:

The Marvel Netflix auction items are now viewable.

It is sold by one of the bigger and reputable movie prop auction houses, Prop Store. As some will recall, they sold one of the several screen-used Oakley Juliet from the X-men movie as well as the Cyclops visor:

https://marvel.propstoreauction.com/m/search/?page=1&view=list&sale=undefined&catm=any&order=highest&live=no&timed=no®ular=no&buynow=no&makeoffer=no&xclosed=no&featured=no

One of the more interesting auctions to me is the DD sunglass prop:

Yep, that is awesome! Do you get the clean version or the one with blood on it?

I’ve been sporadically watching the Marvel Netflix auctions. Some interesting stuff. $55-65k for the Daredevil costumes, $2.4k for Elektra’s sais, $11.5k for DD’s cowl, plus these:

$10k+ for DD’s billy club:
https://marvel.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/198/lot/42645/

A surprising $8k for Matt Murdock’s glasses:
https://marvel.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/198/lot/42431/

$6.25k for Rabbit in a Snowstorm:
https://marvel.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/198/lot/42435/

And still a day and a half left to go for the other auctions/shows.

One of the Keaton Batman suits is up for auction with a $145k estimate. Seems low:

Yeah, that's awesome. The estimate does seem low especially since it mentions that it cost around $250,000 to make back in the day.

As I’ve noted a few times, Prop Store is one of the bigger forces in the sci fi movie/screen used prop hobby. My first post in this thread was of the X-men visor and Juliet they sold that was used in the film’s production and had proper provenance (not some wild ass dubious claim on an eBay auction like the one we saw earlier in the year).

They recently had a big auction for some iconic pieces. Star Wars and Back to the Future did predictably well, but I was surprised by some Ghostbusters bidding. The highlights for me:

£152,000 (before buyer’s premium is added) for a Ghostbusters ghost trap? Crazy:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/46929/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D2%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%252C48%252C1271%252C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

The Nike shoes from BttF did well. Thought it would go higher than £53,000, TBH:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/46709/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D1%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D1279%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

The skateboard did very well:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/46710/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D1%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D1279%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

Not surprising, some of the top Star Wars stuff went over £100k each:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/47333/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D4%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%252C48%252C1271%252C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno%26view%3Dgrid

https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/47351/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D4%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%252C48%252C1271%252C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno%26view%3Dgrid

I’m shocked the Keaton Batman suit didn’t reach the lower end of its estimate:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/46727/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D1%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%2C48%2C1271%2C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

Other interesting stuff is the gun from Blade II:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/46787/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D2%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%252C48%252C1271%252C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

And the gun from the first Judge Dredd movie:
https://ukm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/169/lot/47065/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F169%2F%3Fpage%3D2%26view%3Dgrid%26items%3D96%26sale%3Dundefined%26cat%3D11%252C48%252C1271%252C1282%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno

Braveheart sword:
