I have a project in progress named "Black Mamba" in honor of Kobe Bryant who retired this year. I am in the finishing touches and would like to get inputs from the group regarding what lens to use later on while i think of the final details for this piece..

Oak do you have any suggestion on what lens color given the theme?

I always like really bright colour lenses like fire or Ruby in matte black frames.

When you have a dark frame, I think a bright and colorful lens would look nice. I was wanting to also make a snake shed custom (since I have a lot of them to work with). What are you using to keep the shed skin on the frame. I was thinking gold leaf adhesive would work.

@dann i stabilized it using enamel paint after stretching it.. apply just enough paint to strenghten the shed but at the same time keep the details sharp. Takes time to do it and still delicate.. applying enamel makes it little stronger.. i used epoxy glue to fill the inside crevices of the shed and stick it onto the frame so the shed is tougher and filled..

Another lens recommendation would be Chrome Iridium. I think that would look pretty sharp as well, ala the Machinist collection.

Decided to paint 13 scales with gold to represent kobe's select accomplishment and his last nba game which is stellar..

Decided to use titanium clear lens so that the focus is more on the frame than the lens.. it can help make the scale pattern pop even more...

3-d textured effect is cool
