I just like that they're releasing a design that is going to make people scream in rage and blog about how Oakley is going downhill. We had a taste with the Madman, so it's refreshing that instead of back tracking, they're going even further. Something I would see Jim approving of.

People have had similar issues with Adrisport. They put the stock up before it arrives and get people's hopes up.

I love the original Wind Jacket. As for this one...

Definitely a Romeo/Romeo 2-level shock to the system when compared to the first Wind Jacket. I would've felt the same way, but the F-117 stealth fighter jet feel I get from it just makes it difficult not to love.

Here's the thing, I worked for Oakley for over 4 1/2 years, and in that time I can't tell you how many times I had people ask me when they would make a good pair of riding glasses (motorcycle, not bicycle), and there was never anything that fit the bill. Then the Wind Jacket came out, and it felt like the Oakley gods had finally smiled upon all of us that ride. Then they were discontinued after what, a couple years, at most? Now there's no way to get lenses, and I've stockpiled a few extra gaskets and nose pieces because I know it won't be long before those are gone too.

Then I hear that there's a Wind Jacket 2.0 coming, and I got excited, right up until I saw them. They aren't even glasses, they're goggles. It's just another re-hash of a vintage design with a slight twist, which has been Oakley's M.O. for the last 6 years, IMHO.

They should have been called the Eyeshade 2.0 and left it at that. With the New Canteen and New Valve, none of them really represent the original. It's all just a way to avoid new trademarks, but I think they could pick better re-uses of names if that's the main point.

Snow Jacket would've been a great name for it, since it is a dedicated skiing sunglass (or winter sports anyway). Especially if they come out with a pair called the Speed Jacket, it'd fit in well with Racing, Flak, Fast, Straight, Split, Water and Wind Jackets.

Agreed. I like Eyeshades 2.0 or Snow Jacket. Leaning towards Snow Jacket. Let the Eyeshade name remain original and untouched.

Just noticed they dropped the "2.0" in the name of these and are just calling it "Wind Jacket" now but we all know they're an Eyeshade 2.0 so I vote we just call them the Eyeshade EV lol 😅

Interesting...they changed the Wind Jacket Gasket to the Split Jacket Wind Gasket to differentiate it from that 🤔
