I recently purchased a pair of serialized Oakley Juliets. The noose bridge was very loose, so I sent them in to be tightened. Oakley sent them back saying they were not authentic. The lenses in these Juliets are after market. Could the reason they sent them back be that they do not have the original lenses in them?

Has anyone ever sent in a pair with none original lenses and had Oakley send them back saying they are not authentic? I just put a pair of authentic Oakley Juliets right next to this pair and they are identical except for the lenses (because these lenses are aftermarket).

Those certainly look real to me. Perhaps you should just take the lenses out and send them in again.

That would be my bet. Fake Juliet's are generally plastic, and the metal ones are of poor enough quality to be obvious. I wonder if they have a laser test and just put the glasses on it to save any sort of lengthy authenticity testing. With turnover being what it is, I can't imagine they train all employees on discontinued models.

I'd also suggest sending them in without lenses.

I concur. Oakley tends to get sore when they know non-Oakley accessories are used on their frames. They state in the insert that use of aftermarket products voids their warranty. Perhaps take them to a nearby O-Store and verify their authenticity in person (sans lenses, of course!).

Please keep us updated.
With the longevity of X metals, someday we all my be required to remove our aftermarket lenses prior to assessment.
Or O could restart lens production for us oldies.
Jus sayin'...

We had a round table discussion last summer with some of the designers, and a few of our members, and that was high on the list. Unfortunately it wasn't high on theirs.

Yes. Any after market parts added to an authentic Oakley invalidates the warranty or repair services.

Had quite a few customers send me frames Oakley said were fake, not one of them were fake. But any aftermarket accessories will get you booted from the facility.is HQ even doing tune-ups anymore?
