I think it is not normal that all newTee so exclusively in the USA, we in Europe was nothing, just the bunker to the USA, the madman Raw just the US, and its going to be after what ??? I think that Oakley could have done 50/50 or 40/60 for the sale of limited series

But I agree. Oakley should be more generous towards Europe. On the swedish Oakley site you can't even order the Madman or Badman.

Somebody put a Madman on ebay that he had Brian Takumi autograph, for $5000.

Such a great guy: "I am an avid Oakley collector and bought 2 extra pairs of the serialized Madman for collectors who were unable to secure a pair in person or online."

Ridiculous. I asked Brian to sign my book and a microbag (for someone else), but didn't want to overstep by asking him to sign my Madman box and look like a douche. Obviously some people don't have my moral compass.

Also, #15 is on ebay as well. That was purchased shortly after I bought mine.

Only one of the listings is an auction, and it is already up to $1625, and the serial is over 100.

The scalping on this one is crazy. There should be more super expensive things to come this year, so patience and steady pacing will indeed be a virtue instead of feeding the vultures this early.

This is why I have a strict $200 limit on all purchases. Watches being the only exceptions. I've developed a bit of a sense for what products need to be purchases and will have the best value now, to value later ratio. As cool as the Concept Studio and LE Madman are, I see them already at the high end of the spectrum. Sure there will be a few bites now during the hype, but give it time, and I'm sure it will settle.

My friend got it in London O-store for me.

The American way is to make money when you see an opportunity. If you pay 1K you know someone who really wants it will spend 2K

So why not see if anyone bites at 3K.

Considering most of us built our collections on the help and generosity of others (as well as helping others build theirs in return), there really isn't any excuse that would mitigate the disgust for scalpers.

But Dann said it best in the thread I link to:

Finally had the opportunity to try out the Madman (and bad) in person at a nearby o store. Not all colorways still available to try on, but enough. I, like many it seems, am initially looking at the Ruby option. However, when I did try on the Fire, I was surprised with how much I like it. Quite possibly more than the ruby. While the black/Ruby is always a striking combo - the Fire with silver and matte clear was surprisingly impressive. Just seemed a bit flashier, more contrast between materials, and better showing the sculpted lines of the frame.
Not that I can say I bought anything yet, so my 2 cents are only worth as much. Just thought I would share an opinion. :)

Perhaps if someone saw it in a store and picked it up to sell on ebay, it would be only slightly rude, but to go to a collector specific event and buy 1/3 of the stock when there was only enough for one in four people...that's just unfortunate. That's what made The Oakley community so great and special. I would hate to see the tide turn on that completely.

I do agree on that part of everything... at a collectors event you would think 100% of the people there are for the obsession.

I got a few pairs from people who have gone to events helping myself out getting stuff early at the event price, doesn't mean the persons gesture goes undone.... means I owe him a favor that I will gladly repay for the kindness.
