As much as I like the stands/towers/cases, the acrylic and resin Bob heads, etc., I'd like to see some new displays from Oakley. Does anyone know if there are plans to update their displays?

There's the Stretchline towers. Slightly mod'd from the originals. Black instead of Silver with the Stretch logo in grey metal dimensional sticking off the top facade. I think they should keep going with what they have like this.

I have a better shot than this, but this is all I could find online:

There are a few stores that already have a new concept...more user friendly. There's rumors of spreading the idea on all stores, but it's yet to be processed. For Montreal, I was told it'd be either right before Christmas, either in Spring 2007.

as far as my rep for atlantic canada told me, we will be getting the updated displays in a matter of months, definately before the new year.

Nope. It was talked about in a thread a LONG time ago. The old cases and towers and displays are to be picked up, accounted for(and if not accounted for, the dealer will be HEAVILY fined) and then, unfortunately, destroyed.

One the one hand, the older cases become more valuable with time, you know, the whole out of production thing....

however, I'm not at all impressed with what I have seen of the womens cheaper quality display cases. They have incorporated white plexiglass instead of aluminum-just cheaper all around. I like the stretchline tower, a doublewide stretchline would be cool, but the logo is plasticlike, I would prefer they cut it out of the sides of the case, rather than adhere it to the sides like an afterthought.

My fear is that material cost will create/ dictate certain constraints-

I like the display case to look like it weighs 2,000 lbs-like a real vault.

I thought it was posted on here that they are going to be having newly designed towers in o stores soon.

I thought they were moving in the direction of display walls, like the one I saw at the Irvine Spectrum O-Store this summer. Makes trying on Oakley's a less intimidating endeavor for some people. That's what I heard at least.

From what I have heard, there are new towers already done, just not out. They are more acrylic industrial with LCD screens in them, but I have yet to see one. Wouldn't doubt it though, since all I have heard so far is accurate.

From what i have been told by 2 opd in my area (derby - Uk)
is i can have 1 or both, if i pay the £1000 fine for them.
but as i aint got £1000 spare at this moment in time, looks like i will be missing out.
aint got a clue what £1000 would be in the dollar format, but i still aint got it floating about just yet..oh bugger.!!

Yikes, that's about $1900 US.... But I'm sure we're going to see quite a bit pop up for sale on the internet.
