Now i can't link pictures to my glasses from the gallery! Not in Chrome and not in Explorer. I haven't been able to do it on my mobile at all...

Fix one thing, then break another. I added a check to see which system is using the Gallery, and it will attach the photo rather than gallery ID. Should be fixed now.

I was having the same problem last night trying to link gallery pictures. I can link now, but if I click on the item in my collection, I get one of those broken image icons. I tried both Chrome and IE.

Ack. Missing single quote (') in one of the lines. That's all it take. Please try now. Sorry for all the mess.

Sorry. Every time I change something, I have to do it twice for mobile, so I mis-typed one thing.

1) Break things
2) Fix things
3) Receive praise, haha

So sorry for all the trouble. I can't seem to correct one part without destroying another.

Not sure if this is the right thread to post, apologies in advance if it's misplaced.

Being a newbie to the forum side of o-review, I'm finding it a bit challenging to navigate (yes, it's a user issue :P ). It's got a great wealth of knowledge but I feel like a kid at a giant library without a librarian to ask for help to find things.

Are there any plans to use other forum software such as phpBB etc to make things a bit less intimidating?

I sort of feel the same way about navigating phpBB, hard to make sense of the layout when it's not familiar. I don't use forums of any type aside from this, so despite being the standard for 15+ years, I feel phpBB is only second nature due to it being so ubiquitous. That said, I know this site could still use some enhancements in terms of navigation, and I'd rather put the time into addressing any concerns of that nature.

Converting to another system would break a lot of the integration that's throughout the site, from collections, to the central database. I've tried to strip everything down to a minimalistic approach, but then it tends to build back up again.

But as far as the Forum goes, the main page basically has all new posts since the last login (and/or within the timeout period). There are a few additional quick view buttons for subscriptions, and for the main threads that are used the most. Below that are the general topics, which link to the threads, and then posts.

My main goals are to improve the non-Forum areas too. The menu needs to go, and connect to the end points a little better. Also once upon a time, had articles, and some more informational pages, so it's going to be a two part effort; getting the content back in a better format, and then to present it in a natural way. The normal Forum chit-chat may contain some good information, but it will be more beneficial if I can systematically port that information into a more structured location.

i suppose with the large knowledgebase and custom database schemas it'd be quite challenging to port to other forum engines. In any case, keep up the good work! I'd be more than happy to help out if you ever run out of IT helpers

I think the easiest thing to do Ron is just dive in and see where it leads you. Once you get familiar its pretty easy to find your way around to what your looking for. Consider it a bit of a treasure hunt

I think I benefit from seeing versions prior to V10. I became familiar with the forum's structure in a different environment, and so I know where to find things now. I agree with Greg though, just start diving in and reading what looks interesting. Or, just start reading new posts each time you log in. Eventually you'll grow accustomed.

I enjoy visiting a forum that isn't based on phpBB. Not only is it a great testament to Dann and the hours spent developing the site, but it's refreshing and something that feels like it belongs to the OR community. (All rights reserved to Dann-the-Mann)
