In theory they could, but I'm still trying to work down the original debt. Depreciation on them is pretty bad.

what percentage of the babies do you keep to use as breeding stock? the ones you dont keep you sell right?

It all depends on what comes out. Generally the higher end ones are more valuable keeping as breeders, since few will have the cash these days for them. The ones that go for a few hundred sell much easier (What will sell faster, a C Six or Monster Dog). I kept 3 the first year, and two last year. One of the males from the first year helped produce that clutch above, so that's a fair turnaround. In theory the females could be ready this coming season, but it may be borderline.

No, sold off most of them after the last breeding season. I was gung ho on diving into the next, but then I used some of the profits to buy a new one, and it died a month later, and it just sort of made me look at things and realize that I didn't have the time. I sold off all but 6, and then last year down to 2. I have the all white Ivory, and the Paradox Albino still. It's manageable, and a stock of rats lasts me half a year now instead of a month. I miss it at times, but I have to be realistic about my free time.

Sadly true. I had to part ways with my three aquariums (30g, 55g and 100g).

I thought it was just me, but I found myself getting wrapped up at work more and having less and less free time. Either I was actually busier or maybe my mind was just slipping at my old age, but a lot of stuff I was keeping up with pretty well have now fallen by the wayside.
