Good design is the easiest answer to complex question (didn't it win/get nominated for an Oscar for SFX?). The Predator is one of the most memorable movie aliens/movie monsters, so he's got a huge following despite the movies not being all that great even if fans do call it one of the best Sci Fi films ever (though I suppose you can call it commercially successful). Big following = lots of product. Plus, it being one of SFX lengend Stan Winston's greatest creations certainly affects its notoriety. Nor does being featured in a film when Arnold Schwarzenegger was growing in popularity hurt, either.

"To Catch a Predator" indeed. Don't talk to strangers and stay away from their candy, Pred.

I see. I didn't know Stan Winston was behind it. And you're right, Arnold probably helped out.

I know Predator has a following, but there are plenty of other SciFi characters in films that could have cultivated similar product creations, from good films and bad (lord knows there are plenty of bad). It's interesting to me to see the amount of love Predator gets. I like it, and I love seeing photos of the variety.

A lot of the popular movie stuff have big followings most of us don't even know about. The amount of love for Chucky perplexes me to no end.

Come to poppa. Well the 1/6 version at least. Would love that 1:1 scale too. First I need funds though.

Wowzers on that Hot Toys Hulkbuster! Very glad I don't do Hot Toys because that would be a must have and I can only imagine the hole in the wallet that would cause, haha.

It's been on my pre-order list for nearly a year and a half, but the Iron Man Mach 7 lifesize bust is finally home! There have been a lot of complaints from collectors about the overall design, tone of the paint, quality issues, arc reactor and more, but I ended up liking it more than I thought. Let me know how you like Mk 42 when you get it. I'm torn between getting it or waiting to see what 1:1 statues result from Avengers: AoU.
