Frame: Art Chantry
Lens: Warm Grey

While the Hijinx is probably Oakley's most vanilla frame--simple in its very fashion-oriented design--it's probably also one of the most appealing to the mainstream market. The huge squared logo fits in perfectly with the size of the frame, which is quite massive as well. However, it is deceptively light and very, very comfortable. The only other O Matter frame off the top of my head that would compete with it as the most comfortable frame is the Monster Dog. The comfortable fit will obviously be the selling point to Oakley fanatics despite the lack of an outrageous design.

The Art Chantry Hijinx is, in my opinion, the most successful application of art on a frame Oakley has done as of yet. While the c100 and Flores Gascans are applied under a clear covering (thus resulting in a polished frame appearance), the Chantry Hijinx is applied on top of a matte black frame that enhances the artwork more than the other frames have. The matte appearance works wonders for Chantry's art, as it looks like it came right off a poster or magazine, which is exactly what his grunge-level artwork is suppose to look like. However, applying the artwork on top of the frame without a clear covering may have some durability issues in the future.

Overall, I give the Art Chantry a 4 out of 5 stars. It gets points for the artwork complimenting the frame (and vice versa) and its comfortability, but it loses a point due to its lack of a distinctive design.

Frame: Frank Kozik Polished Black
Lens: Warm Grey

If there weren't part of the Artist Series, I would not buy them. They do not fit the Asian Face at all. Complete opposite of how they're supposed to fit for the Asian face. On the bright side, these are one of the more unique Artist Series. The design goes all around the frame rather than the legs, and it is just amazing. The icons are very unique, and the bag itself is spectacular. Now, if these came in the Asian Fit, I'd be more than happy to buy!

Frame: Red Shift Soviet
Lens: Dark Grey
Found these at the beach, and they are unlike any other Oak's I have ever seen. As soon as I put them on they appealed to me. The Soviet graffics are awesome.

These are my third pair of O's, and it is definitly worth getting your hands on a pair of these...considering only 5000 were made.

Frame: Matt black

One of the best sunglasses i"ve had in my lifetime, high on performance but low on durability. In 3 years the lens coatings have started to peel off

Frame: Art Chantry Matte Black, Kozik Polished Black
Lens: Warm Grey

A very plain looking sunglass. I would say that if the ones I didn't own were not artist series I wouldn't own any. The fit isn't good on me as they rest on my cheeks and leave small marks. Because the artist series was new at the time I felt that I had to have these as the frame on both are amazing. Warm grey fits the Art Chantry but I wish they used regular grey on the Koziks. A great head turner, I never fail to get a compliment on these.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

Just your regular HiJinx, style and fit wise, only difference is this is the Stussy Edition, which was released late last year. Must say that the overall design is a little plain for my personal liking, with the black icons just blending in with the black frame, and with yellow/black/white stripe kinda design at the ends of the earstems. and there's the "Buffalo Soldiers" wording on the inside of the earstems.

the unique point of this pair is the Stussy logo etching on the right lens, which i must say is the main "cool" factor.

overall, the HiJinx to me will always be a great pair of shades to wear, and this collaboration between Oakley and Stussy is unique in it's own way, just wished it was more outstanding.

Who is this Kid

Beautiful design on the ear stem. I love how it was very limited in production. However, I do not like the 2 lens look as-posed to the shield lens of the Antix. It looks awesome in the display case, but horrible on my face. Even though it lacks in looks, it is very comfortable on your face.

Frame: Who is this Kid?
Lens: Grey
I have had a few pairs of Hijinx and recently purchased the Who is this Kid version. Is it true this is a limited edition of only 300 pair? If so, wow!!!

Frame: matte black
Lens: grey polarized

Pros :
Low profile design, nice coverage, grey polarized is amazing lens ^^

Cons :
-A little too big for my face (I'm Asian). Loose fit
-got "light-hole" around nosebridge area, quite distracting since the other area are relatively "well-sealed"
-got pain around temporals area when wearing it for a long time, maybe caused by the straight stems(non Asian-fit)

Frame: Tortise
Lens: Bronze Polarized

The frame looks great. It is huge and provides great coverage, but the clean lines mean even the most conservative dressers can wear it. The side is perfectly accented with a huge square O icon that flows with the contours of the frame beautifully.

It is light weight and comfortable with a fit about the same width as a Monster Dog. From my experience they are slightly less comfortable thatn the Antix. A little bit of unobtanium would be nice, because after about 4 hours they slid down and caused a little discomfort on my ears, but not enought to keep me from wearing them for up to 10 hours at a time. They fit my medium-large head perfectly. Overall another great looking, comfortable, and durable frame.

Frame: Whoisthiskid
Lens: Warm Grey

When I first saw the art on these I thought it was to garish for me but every time I looked at them I liked them even more. Picked up a pair and have only received compliments and questions about them especially when talking to Oakley dealers. Shouldn't be wearing them as much as I do but I can't help it. The Hijinx frame has become one of my favorites after I first picked up a pair of Kozik's. They are still pretty "Hollywood" but not as much as I thought when I first looked at them.

Frame: Stephen Murray (Polished Black)
Lens: Black Iridium

These are my second pair of Hijinx, so all of my comments on the great functionality of this frame from my Pimple review still stand.

However, this colorway is FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! The tatoo designs on the earstems are an instant classic, and the lion details on the icons are the coolest thing ever! This frame looks great in polished black as well, and the white pinstriping breaks it up just enough to be different, but not gaudy. The Black Iridium lenses are the perfect compliment to this great design. The custom Microbag is sick too. I can't say enough how much I love these glasses :^)

Frame: Robert Pimple (Brown Smoke)
Lens: Dark Bronze

Like many Oakley frames, I was not a fan of the Hijinx at all at first. I saw a pair of Robert Pimples at the O store and thought they were really cool, so I got a pair and quickly learned that I dig this frame. This edition has a very designer look to them whith the pattern and colorway. For me, that is a double edged sword. They are modern and widely accepted and I get plenty of compliments on them, which is cool. But they lack the odd, edgy, cool OTT styling that I like with many other O styles. But like I said, they've grown on me.

From a functional standpoint, these frames are superb. They are super light, super comfortable, stay put even without unobtainium, have massive coverage, and fit great. The lenses are a little on the plain side to look at, but are very nice to look through. They are better for bright light than standard bronze, but still good for medium/low light.

Overall, I like these a lot and would probably go 5 skulls if they were Gold Iridium instead of Dark Bronze. I think the Gold would go well with the Gold icons and the overall frame coloring.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens:Bronze Polarized

Fuente: These are possibly my favorite pair of glasses. they offer style and comfort. The coverage is excellent and are great in light and dark conditions but definitely take an edge off the bright desert days.

From what I understand these are also a limited pair and are a great addition to any collection.

Frame:Shadow Camo
Lens:Emerald Iridium
I just got these a few weeks ago. They have really made me hate the Gascan model. The Hijinx fits me so much better. They don't grab my temples like the Gascans do and they cover more of the lower visual field than the Gascans. The shadow camo color also looks really sweet with the Emerald lenses. I just wish Oakley would release some kind of case that fits these larger frames better.

But the bottom line is that if you have low cheek bones or small cheeks don't mess with the Gascan, because they allow light to come from the bottom edge of the frames. Buy the Hijinx instead. You won't regret it.

Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Warm Grey Polarized

I generally buy a pair of Oaks a year... Got the White Gascans the day they came out... I kinda like to have an obnoxious option... but the white frames are no good in direct sunlight, so I bought the Hijinx immediately. All things considered, they are the best shades I've ever owned except for a few picky things...

1. HUGE folded... take up toooo much space.
2. They don't even come close to fitting under my whitewater helmet, the "Sweet - Strutter."
3. The matte finish is a clear varnish like stuff that began flaking off within a month.

...otherwise these glasses are fantastic! The fit on my size 7 3/8" head is PERFECT. They are super cool looking, and the BIG lenses offer a huge field of vision.

I owned these for two months when a friends dog ate them... he even chewed up the lenses.

Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Bronze

I just picked these up two days ago. I love having a black frame with bronze lenses, since it's a fairly unique combination. The camouflage icon looks amazing. I'm not a fan of the Hijinx as a frame, but this colorway is worth picking up while it's still available.
gangstabob -
Frame: Green Black Splatter
Lens: Dark Grey

The Hijinx is one of the sunglasses I use the most. It's a huge realy cool looking pice and the big square O on the side is just super nice. I also love that the icon is vented, not something that a lot of people notice but it's a nice detail. The frame fits my face realy nicely, it provides great coverage and wraps around my head realy good. and the colour combination is something that gets a lot of attention beacuse it's realy uniqe and fresh.
This is a frame I would recommend to everybody!
nalong86 -
Frame: Shadow Camo
Lens: Grey

The hijinx is a cool pair of glasses. I really like the shadow camo frame a lot. It makes the piece look more unique in the display case but when you are wearing them they almost look black so its not too flashy for everyday wear.
Hexesonxs -
Frame: Frank Kozik
Lens: Black Iridium

Since I'm not a fan of non-Iridium lenses, I decided to just change them to Black Iridium lenses. After doing that, I can say that I love these glasses. They're a tighter fit than most frames but I love the art all over the frames and they are my favorite artist series since they even have a design on the front of the sunglass and not just the arms. The only complaint I have about the Hijinx frame is that because it sits so close to the face, the top piece of the frame can get rather uncomfortable and the lenses at the top do tend to get fogged easily if it's hot out.
STRIDER -
Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Ice Iridium

I bought these over a year ago and still wear them constantly. Originally came with Black Iridium Lens but recently changed due to scratches. IMO the Ice Iridium looks better with this frame. They fit very well on my big head and feel light. I could wear them all day. Currently these are my golfing glasses until I can get some Radars. the field of vision is enourmous. At times I cant even see the frame just the tint of the lens. these have been tossed around lightly yet still fell as sturdy as the day i got them. Good simple design when I don't want to stand out among the masses. warm water and little soap gets the smudges out.
Orlampa -
Frame: Irons
Lens: Warm Grey

Big & Bold to say the least. I liked them so much, I bought the Matte Black/Grey Polarized too. They have a great field of vision and no blind spots. I would not recommed these to anyone with a small head...you'll probably look odd.
C6driver -
Frame: Polished Black (Hawaii Flag Icons)
Lens: Black Iridium

I've been to O Stores tons of times to look at random stuff and the sales reps always tell me to check out the Hijinx. I've just never felt like they were all that inspired of a design. But I was just on vacation in Maui and on my last day, right before heading to the airport, I stopped by a local OPD and saw these with the Hawaiian flag design integrated into the square O icon. Just considering how collectible these would be, and the fact that you have to be on the islands to get them, I just had to have 'em.

Fit is really similar to Oil Rig but the extra wrap from the ear stems make them more secure. The thick frame makes for very limited peripheral vision though.

They had them for Gascans but I can't wear them cause they're just too narrow.
Tricko7 -
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Warm Grey Polarized

I just dont get the appeal of these glasses. In my opinion they are oakley's cheapest looking frame from the square o line. The oversized O is just tacky and the design is just too plane. With options like oil rig and eyepatch in the same size area it seems like no contest. But i guess for people just wanting some nice sun protection and not really wanting to be too flashy they will do okay. I just think for the money you can invest in something with a bit more class.

Red Shift Edition

These glasses are cool. I was really drawn to the soviet line of glasses when they first came out. I recently purchased both pairs and i really like the soviet frame color. I wish that they had the same icons as the gascan though becuase i like the looks of the gascan icons more. The art work on the earstem is simple but interesting. They also come with a special edition box and microbag which is nice
nalong86 -
Frame: Rust
Lens: Bronze

I got these glasses custom made on O.com. i really like the rust frame color a lot. It is semi transparent, but not as much so as a crystal frame. The big red square o icons really accent the frame color nicely. They bronze lens is kinda boring and does not shine from the frame as nicely as i had hoped. It does not look bad, just not quite how i had hoped it would look. The hijinx is a great pair of glasses. It fits quite nicely on my head, even though it is rather large.
nalong86 -
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium

These glasses are cool. i think that everything looks awesome in polished white. Unfortunatly for me i have very pale skin that does not work well with the bright white frame. They do look awesome on display though.

The orbitals of the hijinx are rather large but wrap nicely around the head making them very wearable. Hijinx is more of a fashion pair which may turn some people away but i think they are nice. No unob on them but i still find them to be comfortable.

Many larger styles do not work for me but the hijinx does. It is one of my favorite new styles from the O and i would highly recomend it.
OAKLEY RAIDER -
Frame: soviet
Lens: dark grey

I love this model. The matte olive green frame helps slide the frame right on. Also just like any other hijinx fits as if the frame was specifically designed for me. The only thing prventing me from giving the red shift hijinx 5 skulls is my love for black iridium. So, on that note i give "4 skulls".

Frame: Red Shift Hijinx (Soviet Edition)
Lens: Dark Grey
This is my 8th pair of Oakley's and i have never owned a pair that i didnt like... Oakley has always treated me well when i have sent frames back to be fixed infact they sent me a whole new pair of glasses once because the Logo had worn off.

The new Hijinx is fantastic, comfortable, stylish and most importantly functional. the fact that the pair i got was a limited edition of 5000 was just a bonus! By far worth the purchase...

Frame: Art Chantry
Lens: Warm Grey

A great new style for 2007, The Hijinx certainly took the Oakley world by storm this year, and the Art Chantry art series edition was no exception. Using a new print process to recreate the artists work on the earpieces, which was basically a bunch of flyers he had designed for various companys and events over his career.
This was followed through with the same artwork on the box, together with the microbag, to create a very unique and desirable sunglass.
BullyVW -
Frame: Soviet
Lens: Dark Grey

This is my first O.com order in some time. I had loved the Hijinx from day 1, but wanted something different. After looking into the Bruce Irons and the AC versions...these caught my eye. The subtle arm design is great. The dark, flat, military color of the frame is very unique and the dark grey lens looks the part.

It goes well beyond the glasses, though. A Soviet Pin, special edition bag, and awesome box set off the limited edition pair. This pair was well worth my investment!
EnergyShiftX -
Frame: Green Black Splatter
Lens: Dark Grey

Now that ive become obsessed with the fit and style of the hijinx, the splatter was my next purchase. Im so glad to see the splatter style making a comeback, and what an awesome frame choice to do it on, the green looks very nice on the polished black frame. Im not a big fan of the grey, warm grey or dark grey lenses, but after wearing this, the chantry, and the irons, its really grown on me.

My only suggestion to oakley for the hijinx would be: More crazy frame colors, custom options, and they definitly need hydrophobic lenses.
EnergyShiftX -
Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Black Iridium

I wasnt a big fan of crystal black until i got these. When the sun hits the crystal black it glows just a little and makes it look shiny, plus with the black iridum lens the whole thing just shines. The gunmetal Icon, which i usually hate gunmetal, is a nice touch to the crystal black.
EnergyShiftX -
Frame: Art Chantry Matte Black
Lens: Grey

The matte black is definitly a perfect frame for the artist series. The art chantry is probably my most favorite unique oakley pair. The Hijinx is also probably my favorite oakley model. It not too big but has a large enough lens where your vision isnt blocked by the fame, it wraps and fits perfectly, and the large icon is very nice. The chantry was well worth the $160, i know i shouldnt wear them around, but i cant help it. They rock! I give them a 5!
andy73au -
Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Black Iridium

This is a superb fitting frame, especially if you have a big face. The frame is also very light and you can hardly tell that you are wearing it. The large square icons also make this frame very unique and make it look awesome. I wasn't totally sold on the Crystal black frame color at first, but after wearing it for a fews days, I've come to realize how good it looks. I think I will be wearing this one for quite a while and it surely will become a favourite. Hijinx is a must have for any collection.
Je_Suis_Oakley -
Frame: Rust
Lens: VR28 Black Iridium Polarized

The Hijinx is really a great look for the summer, the lenses give plenty of coverage for my eyes, the lenses are also greawt for really bright days or even overcast days. Even though the frames dont have any unobtanium they still fit very snug to my head. The big metal square O on the side really tops off this pair.
RangerK -
Frame: Bruce Irons Polished black
Lens: Warm grey

The polished frame tends to slip. The icons should be vented and I'll be replacing or OCE'ng them.

Otherwise a nice conservative but wild at the same frame to wear to non-sporting functions.

Jay Ho -
Frame: Brown Tortoise
Lens: Dark Bronze
Really nicecolor combo but the more I look at it, the more feminine it looks. Maybe I should have gotten black or something more manly but I have too many in those other colors. The frame fits me much much better than my Gascan. Looking at them side to side, there seems to be very little difference in width. It might be the cure of the earstems that pushes it further apart at the temples when on my head. The frame does sit close and the cverage is huge. Not a problem for my M-L Asian face. I think that's what style is in nowadays so no complaints. I haven't wore them too extensively but they seem to be more comfy than the Gascan. If not for my color choice, they would probably get more wear.
The lense is nice. Good color for contrast which I am a fan of. No irid coating is a nice change up from many of my other pairs. The coverage makes it a little iffy for driving or motorcycling but I think I'll be using these for my casual day wear anyway.
Nice entry from Oakley overall and $90 is a bargain for this brand. Gives me a few bucks to start on my next choice.
lionel -
Frame: brown sugar
Lens: dark bronze

An extremely comfortable frame. I have a larger head and these fit great. The only problem if any with these is that they sit a little closer to my face than I prefer. Other than that the coverage is great, the large frame is very 'in', and the huge icons really pop. Polished gold vented icons with the brown sugar frame has to be my favorite colorway.
Je_Suis_Oakley -
Frame: Rust
Lens: VR28 Black Iridium Polarized

Great pair of sunglasses! The style itself is large so it might not look as good on small to medium faces. The icon is huge and looks great, fits on my head similiar to the gascan, is really light weight and gives plenty of coverage because of the size and the wrap of the frame.
EnergyShiftX -
Frame: Polished Black (Bruce Irons Signature)
Lens: Warm grey

Just got them. I love them, Oakley is gonna kill the sunglass market with these. The fit me perfectly, the large icon is very cool. The bruce irons is nice with the signature on the inside of the left arm, and the hawaii symbol on the right arm.
I also saw the Matte black with the polished black icon is nice, and the crystal black isnt bad either.

This is my new favorite pair as well!!
knudson -
Frame: Polished Black (Bruce Irons)
Lens: Warm Grey
what a great fitting frame. sized like the oil drum, but a lighter more flexible frame. great coverage and sweet look. some people won't love the very large icon on the temple, but the bruce irons version is gunmetal and blends right in. my new favorite frame, knocking the gascan down to #2.
Pez -
Frame: any
Lens: any

Even though Oakley is clearly trying to move in a fresh new direction with these, they still somehow manage to take a major step back when it comes to fit. These represent yet another "asian unfriendly" design. Very dissappointed to try these on only to find they touch pretty much everything on my face EXCEPT my nose. They hit my cheeks, my forehead, and my temples, while my nose makes absolutely no contact with the nose-bridge (and I don't even have that flat of a face!). By far the worst fit of any Oakleys I have ever tried (and that's saying a lot!).

Style is nice I like the fact that they have exceptionally good coverage and a unique look, but the fact that they don't fit is a point of major disappointment to me. I wouldn't buy a car that didn't have enough leg room no matter how nice the car is or how bad I want it. Same goes for these.

Here's a concept for Oakley: Simultaneous release of all products in "Asian-fit" rather than tacking on 2-3 colorways 9 months after the original release as an after-thought. Not to mention they only have a few frames with Asain-fit.

4 pts. for style
0 pts. for fit
averages to 2 pts.
