I didnt like these at first but they have started to grow on me. Got them on my art chantry hijinx and thought they were lame but after wearing then awhile I can appreciate them on sunny days. I still prefer dark grey over these I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair.

A great non-Iridium lens. There aren't that many lenses out there that have a sort of distinction and classic feel to it. With Warm Grey you get a great color combined with the classic appeal of a non-Iridium lens. Great addition to the regular Grey.
I agree with Lex on the light conditions it is meant for. In extremely bright conditions you really need an Iridium on the lenses, these just won't perform like that.

I tried these with the new C-wires. In the end I didn't like the way the reddish/brown tint gave everything a CSI MIAMI feel to it. On a hot sunny day I prefer grey or green tones, cooler tones that help trick the mind (my mind, at least) into thinking it's not as hot as it seems.

I got these by default on the Splinters, and it did take awhile to get used to since all of my other glasses have some sort of contrast lens. I plan on switching these out later (if I can...), but for the most part they were very 'warm'. Didn't seem to block out that much light though...I think 10% may be incorrect.

Okay these are definitely one of my oakley favorites. I've used ice iridium polarized, fire iridium, g30, and these warm grey are great because they are so neutral! You put them on, and no change in color, you just don't have to squint in the sun. I think they are great for not being polarized. I think they are plenty dark. I do a lot of fishing in bright sun, and the only thing I'd like these to be is polarized. But otherwise, an excellent quality lense from oakley

I love this lens....a classic that goes with everything! I have the black Iridium in the probation and the inmates...jus wanted a change and change is good..stylish and timeless.....you can't go wrong with the inmates with the warm grey....again I say CLASSIC and TIMELESS!

got these on my Oil Rig's... the warm grey lense makes all the difference..... helps alot during decently sunny conditions. I live in Durban, South Africa... and it can get pretty bright. buying Probation's, and considering whether to fit these

I got this lens with my pair of Half X (X Metal/Warm Grey), my first pair of Oakleys, to boot. I come from Serengeti Drivers, so take it for what you will, but I just don't care for this lens in daytime light. I live in Florida, so from sun-up to sun-down is usually fairly bright and the claimed light transmittance of 10% must be a typo of some sort, because I find myself squinting through bright light and glare any time that the sun is even close to my field of vision.

Perhaps it's because of the excellence of Serengeti's Drivers lens (amber, polarized, adjusts from 18%-8% based on ambient light), but Warm Grey just does not do well at cutting through even medium-bright conditions, nor does it provide any clarity or visual acuity. These lenses, I think, would be perfect for overcast boating, or perhaps a dawn/early morning run, but after that, I would highly suggest something else that is, at minimum, polarized.

I don't know that I can fault a non-polarized lens for not being polarized, but it just seems like too much light gets through for a claimed 10% light transmission. That's just my thoughts.

I live on the NorCal coast, where it's often foggy and gray, even when it's very bright out. This is the perfect lens for these conditions. And, when the sun does come out in early afternoon, they still work because (unlike typical amber lenses) they have solid blockage.

I'm torn on this lens. I really like it on my SI Flag Gascans, but I'm averse to it on my Soviet Gascans. It seems darker/greener respectively, even though it is listed as them same color. I guess the jury is still out.
TERRORISM -
Warm Grey surprised me. Being a collector of mostly "higher-end" Oakleys, I managed to be indoctrinated to Warm Grey through the Half X (X-Metal/Warm Grey), and I must say I was not as disappointed as I initially thought I was going to be. The lens is dark enough to obscure the wearer's eyes quite well, yet it provides a very soothing view of the outside world. Testing these lenses vs the "standard" Grey color, it appears that the standard Grey have more of a "bluish" base tint and the Warm Grey provide the wearer with a more "natural" look of the environment. Much better than originally anticipated, but I still prefer iridium options.

Warm grey is a very nice lens to look through and looks classy from the outside as well. Great colour perception and clarity, however the "warmer vision" makes it a little too hard on my eyes in sunny conditions to the extent that sometimes it feels uncomfortable. I disagree that these lenses are for extremely bright conditions.

I think I have this lens on a majority of my frames, and I keep going back for the same reason. It's subtle enough to be good for everyday use, the blockage is excellent, and the look is timeless.

very nice new lens, and Ed is totally right with the very slight redy brown tint to the lens.

I completely disagree with oakley saying these are meant for Extremely bright light. They dont seem any way near as strong as say Gold Iridium or Ice.
Ed -
The name refers to the very slight red/brown tint that biases this lens to the "warm" side versus the "colder" blue/green side of the spectrum (like Dark Grey). A good compromise between contrast enhancement (like VR28 or Bronze) and true color perception (like Grey or Black Iridium).

Just wanted to re-do this, the lenses I got were supposedly warm grey, but now I finally know the difference! These lenses are GREAT! I have them in the Twitch's. They are severely damaged though, due to a dishonest eBayer. Hopefully I can find a replacement for them though. They truly are nice. They're great for those who like Neutral colors, with a tad bit of contrast. It's much nicer than the standard grey. Great!

The only reason I bought these lenses was because they were on sale at a tactical shop for $35, so of course I made a grab. Based on earlier reviews, I wasn't really going to expect much.

After using them for a few days I was pretty impressed. They were not spectacular or anything like that, but a welcome departure form the standard grey base. They do have a brownish/reddish hue to them but this hue did not impact color perception in any significant way, at least from my vantage point.

I like how they look mainly because they look different. I haven't seen a lens like this yet and they stand out for just that reason. My eyes are slightly visible when worn, although not much; at least, no more than the grey lens and nothing like, say, a VR28 or G30.

They are very comfortable on my eyes (as all Oakley lenses usually are), and I have been wearing them for a few days solid in medium to bright light to try them out. I will concur with earlier reviews in that they are not for extremely bright light and thus their VLT is probably a little highter than 10%.

I'm gonna take a guess that this warm grey is Oakley's next take on trying to make a non-iridium dark lens that isn't the gray, with dark grey being the first. I haven't had a chance to test drive the dark grey (and might not ever) so it would be interesting to have tried the greenish hue along with warm grey's reddish hue. That lens went away due to its unpopularity and this one seems to be headed that way as well. So, I am glad that at least I got to try it before it disappears.

I give this lens a 3 because it exceeded my expectations (granted, my expectations were low). It isn't my favorite lens (at least not yet anyway) but it is getting some use.
