Frame: FMJ Copper
Lens: Black Iridium
I bought these glasses used, but in excellent condition. They are sport glasses designed for activity and so the arms wrap snugly around one's head, even a small one like mine. However this can be uncomfortable if worn for extended periods of time. Even with the aerodynamically raked back lenses, the glasses are still designed for someone with a wide face (IF YOU'RE ASIAN, THESE ARE THE GLASSES FOR YOU.) They do allow for a noticeable window of light to get in through the sides. But they are just so cool, I could not give them any less than 3 of 5.

Awesome. This is possibly the best model I've gotten since after they've become discontinued. Got them last friday! I can't take them off. The Topcoat lives up to its name. Light, fast looking, this was meant for windy days such as these. I like how the swoopy earstalks make them look very agressive with the high turned orbitals. I see what everyone is saying about having to be careful with them because the arms and the frame are slim. Sweet!

The Topcoat is a cool looking frame, but just does not make up for the weird look on the face. It is comfortable, but not nearly as it should be to be a product from oakley. The cost doesn't really break the bank.

Love the hornet's look these give - very aggressive and unique without resorting to the gaudy frame adornments of the newer models. Since these were made with the old formula O-matter, the earstems tend to break, and mine broke recently. I drilled into each side of the break about 3/16" and epoxied a stiff fence wire in there before joining the two pieces, in the same way one puts rebar in concrete. The fix has held up great and you can't even tell it broke.

My regular cycling glasses for quite some time. Light and comfortable, nice contours to the arms. Excellent shape for the slightly down-tilted angle of my head while on a road bike. Excellent peripheral space in the lens. For me, a little light did sneak through the lower quarter area (about 8 o'clock on the left, 4 o'clock on the right) but I got over it after 3 minutes. I have a FMJ Copper pair I've never worn but over the years I put more miles on my White Chrome Topcoats than any other O-Matter sunglasses. Sadly, leaving them in a blistering hot storage space for a summer left them with a cracked orbital and these beautiful shades are in retirement; I guess they're a a keepsake of the summers I used them. Five stars for the original sculpture and they were great glasses.

Picked these up late '97, early '98. I was replacing a set of Eye Jackets that I thought I had lost. I still use these glasses every so often when I don't feel like using my M-frames. They always fit well, especially with a bike helmet. Pulled them out of retirement for an 80 mile weekend, and they are still great. The only complaint is the finish didn't hold up all that well, as I have heard many other FMJ finishes haven't. These are a classic Oakley Jacket style! Grab em if you can find them!

probably the coolest of the topcoats and i hear they are very rare, some kind of rep or athlete exclusive. the blue looks great it is lighter than code blue and has a bit of a shiny sparkle to it.

Frame: Metallic Black
Lens: Black Iridium

I usually prefer non black frames unless its just for everyday purpose but Metallic black is my preference for this style. The black looks really good with the style. I like the angle of the orbitals and how they give the appearance of an alien. The frame is very light weight. Eye coverage is excellent. The orbitals are fairly big.

Awesome design. Topcoats are very lightweight and comfortable. They also very good eye coverage. The earstems are very unique on how they kind of float away from your face. The shape of the lenses are very unique as well.

Another unexpected find. I traded these and they ended up looking nice next to my Copper pair. I know from experience that they break easily, so I'll just leave them be.

Always loved the style of these and all the colors were among the best Oakley has ever done and they were fairly unique to this style. Another great example of Oakley styling. I recently got a hold of a pair (god I love Ebay!!) and I love them. Although seeing them again reminded me of the problem Oakley used to have with the FMJ colors, in that are small clumps of the paint on a few spots on the frame. This used to be common on almost every pair of glasses with the FMJ colors.

Same as i said before but I just love the FMJ copper frame colour, I didnt wanna get the minute version so i went for these.
Very nice.

Frame:Corten
Lens:Gold Iridium

I mainly got these cos i needed them for my collection but i also like the corten colour frame,
these are a very weird shape they have big lenses and very thin ear stems which make them a very unique looking pair of oakleys that come in some special colours that were not widely spread through the oakley range.

Wow! this is old school as well. When it first came out, my eyes was on it. Not only because of the color combo they out with but also how the earstem rises a bit. I think the newer M frame copied this from the TopCoat. Too bad it's discontinued as well

Frame:White Chrome
Lens: Black Iridium

Remember wearing these at my friends wedding... White chrome goes well with a white suit!
Very comfortable,great area of vision.
This style never seemed to catch on,I cannot understand why.
A bit too "space age" for the masses.

Frame: FMJ
Lens: Black

I have 3 pairs of the Topcoats (Navy Exchange had a sale years back). I think the raked styling is pretty sweet. I agree that the lens shape and styling tend don't provide great coverage and light can sneak in from the sides. However, the curvature to the earstems are just too sweet. Almost a little retro in the overall look (think pointed glasses in the 60's), but sleek nontheless.

Frame: FMJ Copper

I swapped my Zero's for a week to wear these. They fit very snuggly around a different portion of your head than you may be used to. The lenses allow for a wide range of vision and above all, they look pretty cool.

Update: The earstems broke, much like the early Eye Jackets. Will try to fix, but it doesn't look hopeful.

Update 2: I fixed it with a little help from a picture frame nail and some super glue. They're good as new now and I love them.
