Great frame when paired with black iridium. But I don't think it works as well with any other lens. I had these on the splice and paired with the matte black it looked really discreet. I also had these on frogskins but it didn't look that great.
This is great. You get a neutral looking frame that is not so boring as a normal black. Also you can see the construction of the frame like the hinges and so on. Depends on the model if it looks good or not and also if it looks nice enough on the "inside" to have a crystal frame. Looks good with toned down lens colors like Black or Chrome as well as with bright colors like Ruby and Fire.
You see this color in 2 different forms. Thre is a matte crystal found on several vault exclusives and a polished version. The matte gets a 2 or 3 while the polished looks amazing and is an easy 5. The polished looks good with just about any lens and is a great alternative to boring old black.
I have mine on the Vault Exclusives Straight Jacket. I have no idea why it is called "Crystal Black". On my glasses, it is very dark with a matte finish, unlike the polished blueish-grey of the "regular" crystal black. I love this color. I got this new pair not knowing that it was a Vault Exclusive, I thought I stumbled onto a previously unknown rare find. In any case, I was lucky to grab them. Great color, unfortunately, one would have to see it to understand.
I think crystal black looks great with some frames and with others, not so much. I really like the new crystal black Hijinx. The frame is big. It is also pretty thin in some areas so the color looks different depending on what part of the frame you're looking at. I also like how you can see the internals of the hinge area. It gives some visual interest that is lacking on the non-crystal Hijinx models.
My least favorite crystal frame; it looks too much like black when you wear it, and even more so on thicker frames like the MD.
I would like to see more black fade frames instead of crystal black, its the kind of frames that is way better when you look at it then when you wear it, kinda like most crystal frames and cinder red for exemple.
I have it on my EJ 3.0 were its a fire lens and I must say that that combo is very good and because the frame is not that thick you can see the crystal quality of the frame better.
Good versatile frame color. As with most crystal frames, looks dark and polished on your head, but shows it's true color in the light. Mixes well with neutral and flashy. A fun, versatile frame.
Another one of the Retro colours that has appeared on various styles throughout the years.
A nice one.
best selling framecolour for the monsterdog , i think it makes the frame look less bulky than in jet black , overall nice colour
Crystal frame always look great on models with interchangable lenses and the Crystal Black Bottlecaps are the best looking of the bunch.
Simply "OK" in my book. A bit "cheap" looking, I think. Of course, I'm admittantly a bit biased against the crystal frames .. not my favorite.
Ok I guess. Depends what lens it is paired with. I don't like the crystal frames as much as the others anyway. Not bad, not my favourite.
this is another one of those frames that has changed over time.
i have it in a pair of classic frogskins and in a twenty.
they look very different from eachother and the version seen in the twenty and in other modern frames is more of a crystal blue greyish colour. so once again oakley should have created a new name for this frame colour when they changed it.
