This is an odd color to me. At first I couldn't stand it, but the more "mature" in my collecting that I've become, the more I've grown to appreciate it. It is a beautiful color on a beautiful frame. Everything about this frame looks nice. I am happy, however, that there is contrast in the orbitals and the nosepiece. I think and all-gold frame on an X-Metal would be a little gauche.
A great "look-at-me" pair of glasses that comes standard with one of the best lens options available (24k). However, I am disappointed with the matte gold color. The point of this pair is to offer a show of extravagance, and the matte gold actually makes the pair look a little cheap when viewed at closer inspection (I've been asked 3 times if the gold color was plastic). However, this should have been offered on the Juliet line, not just the XX, hence the 4 stars out of 5.
Beautiful color combination here. The 24K really stands out and shouts Oakley. 24K looks great in the sun. The contrast of the nosebridge and earstems with the orbitals looks amazing. If only Oakley did this with all x-metals.
A definite attention-getting frame. The bright gold is offset by the neutral, unpolished orbitals. Paired with a 24k Gold Iridium set of lenses, this frame receives top marks from me.
My first X-Metal, they stand out but in a very classy kind of way, a must have to any collection.
Amazing color combo, its gold ! The hammer arms, the dual tone of the frame, everything with it is great.
I have seen black lens in that combo looking great too, might do that in the future.
Definitely the color to get if you want to stand out. Fortunately, they're done in nice matte finish so they look elegant. If they were polished, they might come off a bit outlandish.
This is a great frame colour certainly one of the most stand and stare frame colours. i just wish the gold bits were polished instead of matte, or all gold instead of having the plasma parts.
Once I saw this frame, I had to have it. Luckily I found one a little cheaper online, and then it was mine. It's really a beautiful frame and only found on the X-Metal XX, which I luckily fit better than the Juliet's.
24k is one of the most unique and great color schemes for the x-metals. Taking a cue from the TiO2 style, I think the 24k color scheme is simply awe-inspiring. Top rated in my opinion. Only limiting factor is that the 24k lens (possibly gold iridium lens) is likely the only matching lens option (thus limitiing the possibilities for popping in an ice or black iridium lens).
