I was fortunate enough to land a Pro M Frame in a one-off color I've never seen, I got this from a seller who lives 10-minutes from Oakley Headquarters and had an invitation to an 'Oakley Friends & Family Event' where he picked up a handful of unique items; this being one of them. They are Mint and a pretty cool color. If you have ever seen this color, let me know know.

a couple suggestions: when I click the comments: "ON" button at the top of the page and then modify one of my items the page refreshes back to comments: "OFF" (i.e. making the thumbnail pixs disappear). Can this be changed so that when we select Comments to be "ON", it stays on until we select it OFF ? also is it possible to make the thumbnail pix any larger in size, they are quite small. Much thanks, the site rocks !

I agree with many of the points Re; 'white space' mentioned above. And I won't take it personally if it reverts back.. please note I didn't expect all the white space to be removed - just a better balance/use-of white space. Perhaps having a extra line or two of white space after each members reply would work better and also address the 'easier on the eyes' symptoms. It just always struck me odd when someone would reply to a thread with a single short sentence and there was like 4-5" of white space below it to get to the next reply. Just my $.02 Another small suggestion is to indicate what the new collection item is when a member adds a new item to their collection. We see the name and how many new entries they added but when we click on it - it shows their entire collection and doesn't indicate which of the dozens of things are new. Thanks again for a great site. (note I added something just now to my collection... try and guess which item it is -- Dann no cheatin) :0)

just a small suggestion, there is a ton of white space in each discussion thread and each members response. This is mostly due to the small statistics that show up in the far left column about the thread participant. I would like to suggest that this information be put on a drill-through (click-able) section or just put on a single line instead of it causing the entire response section to be extended down the page with empty white space. The benefit is that we will not have to page down through soooo much white space on what is sometimes just a single line sentence response. It will also make the flow of the discussion easier to read instead of constantly navigating white space due to the member's stats expanding down the reply space. Also, would like to see larger picture space/images on the discussion threads so that we don't always need to click into the small thumbnails. Love the site, just a couple suggestions.

yes the m-frames came without lens, the lens in the pix is vr50 for now and I've got a white nose-piece to swap in. my main interest was getting both frame(s) in that color. does anyone have a link to find year and original UNC information about these special colors ?

I was very fortunate to recently aquire the original 13th produced Pro M frame and lens. I got an letter of Authentication with it from the Coordinator of Oakley's Design Department. They were handed out to the Oakley design
team members on the first day of manufacturing years back. On a side-note, according to the designers who designed the Pro M frame, the (number) #13 has been a long time 'lucky' number of Jim Jannard and many internal meetings and Oakley events co-incided around the number 13.
Given that the Pro M frame is my favorite Oakley product (the Monster Dog a very close 2cd); I'm thrilled to own the 13th Pro M manufactured. It is in absolutely Mint/Brand new condition, never used and came with it's soft
storage bag and soft vault icon box. Frame color is red with white icons, with grey heater lens. The lens have a unique microscribing on them, compared to the newer microscribing feature under the nosebridge.
I realize many folks enjoy other models of Oakley, but for me; the reductionist-design, perfect fit, and clean lines, make the Pro M Frame a significant Hallmark Oakley product.

...just recently aquired both the UNC Pro M-frame and the UNC M-frame, both have a stellar blue colored frame that reminds me of the IKEA blue. I've posted a pic of the Pro M-frame and will have the M-frame up shortly. Really a stunning color in person.

Thank you TERRORISM, I must say that this one is pretty special. I always appreciate the other Oakley items I have and use -- but this one certainly stands out. I was never focused on chasing down a low serial number (of anything)
before.. but now, I have a deeper appreciation for those fellow O-members who eventually discovered such an item and claimed it for themselves.. (note, I have long admired your O-collection - well done!).

Thanks Yukio, I am thrilled for sure. I started using Oakley's eyewear back in 1985 (Greg Lemond factory pilots model) and have enjoyed many years of wearing and collecting O-gear. I have worn (other) Pro M's daily over the last years for competive cycling and off-day running, and the fit and function of them is truly world class. Very cool to have an early production item of the Pro M. Will post pix in a day or two.

I have used the Pro M's on a daily basis for cycling/racing and outdoor use. The challenge/problem with the Radars (for me) is that the middle nose piece on the Radar can block some field of vision; and the Pro M does not block anything. The overall feel of the Radar just doesn't have the minimalistic-feel of the one-piece molded Pro M frame... just my $.02 cents.

well they certainly cannot be that bad, (directly) from Oakley's website:
"Athletes have won more championships and medals with the M Frame® than with any other single sport product on earth."

I cannot believe that Oakley is phasing out the Pro & M Frames.... in favor of the Radar... Thanks for the photo category clarification, I just updated my pix and will be adding more shortly.

Hello All, Can anyone confirm what my Oakley Dealer told me recently: that Oakley has decided to discontinue the Pro M and M Frame model. He said that Oakley wants to push sales of the Radar even more moving forward, so the Pro and M frames are going bye-bye.... he isn't able to order them any longer so inventory is shrinking. The Pro M (with Hybrid S or Sweep lens) is tied with the Monster Dog as my all time favorite models from Oakley.
Note, I'm a new member here and recently posted part of my collection. I've been collecting Oakley since 1985 with the Factory Pilot (made famous by Greg Lemond during his famous Tour De France cycling years) and the Pro M frame is a work of art in my opinion. Please check out my pix in my collection if you get the chance.
I've enjoyed this site over the last couple years, and excited to now be a member, Thanks to all who have made it such a robust and informative place to surf !
