Great collection Fred! Quite distinctive with the vintage stuff and the ads/catalogues. It's like you said: collect the stuff you like and not what everybody else collects!

Certainly one of the better written Spotlights. And I just love the picture of the little guy with the Flight Deck Helmet, hilarious. Keep up the good work!

Well done Paul ! A very interesting read.
Thanks for continuing with the collectors spotlight. You really get to know people better this way.

David, you and your collection are such a great inspiration to me. I sometimes get the feeling on this site that I miss out when I won't go for the latest hype. When I get like that I always go and look at your collection. The OO wires don't get much attention on this forum but you like them and so you started to collect them. As a result your collection is all the better for it: unique, comprehensive and with a clear theme.
Everyone should collect what they like: others have said it, you've proven it...
Thanks for this spotlight !!

Welcome Kiki, love your collection, especially all the rx stands, rx lens vaults and even a clear Bobhead!! Never seen one of those in Europe, congratulations.

Awesome: they made the new half wire 'prescription ready' !
Does anyone know how high a presciption it will take ?

Great stuff Fred !! Love those Rx lenses.
It is amazing to me how many of those vintage pieces are still available in mint boxed condition. I often wonder where it has been kept all this time. It's hard to imagine a store holding its inventory for so long and its equally unlikely to be kept boxed by a buyer. Surely it can't be all from collectors?

didnt see +red for Juliet sorry. +red and +red polarized for flaks and radars though.
Bummer!! Why isn't there a single +Red in the whole X metal line up? I really don't get it. The demand is there, just look at all the customs and third party lenses. Oakley is passing up on a lot of revenue here.

Wow, a lot of very exciting things to come it seems !
But is +Red also on the list? In my opinion it is long overdue in the Juliet line up. Would put an end to all this ruby quartz nonsens on eBay.

I have a Juliet with Emerald Iridium transitions that has the same ghosting problem in artificial light. The Gold Iridium transition lens I have still has the problem but slightly less. Other members have reported the same. I think it is a problem specific to the transitions lenses. Haven't noticed any correction problems though. If you don't see as clear with them as with your other lenses I would definitely return them. No way should you accept suboptimal vision !!
The thickness is normal though, send you a PM in reply to your question.

Actually I have a Nanowire 2.0 with clear Rx and it's by far the best Rx frame I've ever had. I would highly recommend it for daily wear (beiing rx or sunnies) but there is little appeal in it as a collector's piece.

Does anyone have an idea wether this a US thing? Because before I turned to Oakley I've definitely had some (european?) markedly darker lenses. I wouldn't mind if Oakley made some darker lenses because now and again I still have to squint.

I've tried, but my macro isn't that good. Still I hope this will give you an idea:
The arrows point to the place where the lower orbital is "welded" to the earstem. So I can remove the screw which you see in the center of the image but then nothing happens.

So that would be these then:

That G20 Black does indeed look nice. Good choice, congrats!

I didn't know that, thanks !
Still puzzles me why they would make 'false' screws ??

I have a square wire 2.0 SH where the orbitals won't open. I'm certain I've removed the right screw because I've replaced lenses on my other square wires often enough. The screw is in the right place but when I remove it, nothing happens. The lower part of the orbital is simply welded to the upper part and the earstem. Has this happend to anyone else? Why would they put a screw in that doesn't do anything?

Seeing as the brown Juliets sold recently have SN above 300 I'm indeed starting to wonder how rare they really are.
I suspect there is still quite a large unsold stock which is now beeing released slowly so as not to deflate prices.
