I have a new set of Square Wire 2.0 lenses because my old ones are scratched. I now want to replace them, but I don't know how I can get the old ones out. I tried turning the screws closest to the lens, but I can't get the frame to open. Is that supposed to?

Some help is appreciated!

Yeah, the screws closest to the lens should open the orbitals up. Yours are the Spring Hinge model, right? Are you sure they won't budge?

Jep, I got the old lenses out just by pushing, but it looks like the replacements don't fit.

I can't get the bottom part in.

Yeah, you should've been able to take the screw out completely and then pull the orbital apart slightly. If all else fails, you'd have to force it in. In that case I recommend putting the ear side of the lense in the notch for it first, then pushing the rest in towards the nose until it's all clicked in.

Careful pulling the orbitals appart. You won't be the first to totally bend it!

When failing, try pushing the lens in this way:
* top nose side & top ear side
* bottom ear side
* gently pull the orbital over the lens at the lower nose side.

Thanks everyone! It's in! I had to force it in because the orbitals didn't open at all.

I have a square wire 2.0 SH where the orbitals won't open. I'm certain I've removed the right screw because I've replaced lenses on my other square wires often enough. The screw is in the right place but when I remove it, nothing happens. The lower part of the orbital is simply welded to the upper part and the earstem. Has this happend to anyone else? Why would they put a screw in that doesn't do anything?

On some SQ wires the screws are false. You change them the same way you would change an omater frames lenses.

I didn't know that, thanks !
Still puzzles me why they would make 'false' screws ??

I think it's for tension. Simply takes some pressure off the orbital.

I've had a few fake screws in my life. Just sayin'.

Thats really bizzare about the "false" screws - every SQW 2.0 SH frame I've tried to open has come apart pretty easy - Iwan, can you post a picture of the offending screw - also do you have the problem on both sides or just one side???

I've tried, but my macro isn't that good. Still I hope this will give you an idea:

The arrows point to the place where the lower orbital is "welded" to the earstem. So I can remove the screw which you see in the center of the image but then nothing happens.

Look for the join in the orbital on your sunglasses as shown in the picture above - it should be there and indicates that the orbital is designed to come apart to release the lenses - sometimes you have to apply some force to get it loose.
