normally hit the website 1st October...

but as with all things oakley half the stuff odesnt make the site (none of the thermals this year), and the other half doesnt make the stores!

I was speaking to some O dealers in the Alps this year, they're all pretty much agreed that it'll be the last year for them, the stuffs too expensive to sell (one shop even had a pair of unobtainium trousers still on the shelves from about 5 years ago - half price!)

i get stuff sent from the US on a weekly basis...

The smaller stuff normally goes straight through, no extra tax applied.

Larger stuff (box dvd's and above) are now getting picked up on, i think becuase people are looking out for stuff because so much is coming thorugh due to the weak dollar.

Personally I always get it declared for its full value, if you put $30 down and it goes missing youll end up with about £15 for a £200 pair of glasses.

Also the tax is applied to the shipping costs too not just the value of the item, and Parcelfarce normally add a £10 'handling fee'.

Finally not all shops will mark something as a gift. Personally I get stuff marked for testing and destruction purposes - goes striaght through, but I am dealing with prototype bike parts and it definately applies to my snowboards!!

i wouldnt bother itll have nothing of any interest, itll only be stocking fashion clothes, run of the mill glasses and be staffed by people who have no interest whatsoever, oh and if theyre like the rest of the staff in the bluewater shops they'll be incredibly rude too...

ive used water jacket solution on my hi yellow, clear and black lenses in my m frames and racing jackets for the last couple of years without a problem...

Not been brave enough to try it on any of the polarised lenses though

In the past Ive been pretty harsh about these guys, espeically after they caused one of the better O suppliers to shut down...

Well I was passing so I popped in was after Cord snow pants (didnt have my size) and the Mystic jacket (not in stock).

BUT, the guy I spoke to was mega helpful, at 6.30 was leaving messages for head office to call regarding both items, and Im quite sure he'll call me today with results. Also really helpful when I was trying on all the snow gloves (and didnt end up buying them!! - some real odd sizing there..), but they did have the i-pod case I wanted.

Great service, guy, for once, knew what he was talkngi about, just a shame couldnt actually spend any money (other than the Ipod case)....

Maybe Im getting soft in my old age....

London O'store is an embarassment.

I used to go to a small bike shop that had its own mini o'store attached, was there for years, and had a decent stock of everything (rare glasses, snowboard clothing, bike clothing, casual wear, and they had a hotline to Oakley UK and could get anything you wanted), however this was shut down shortly after the O'store opened.

Not aproblem methinks this will after all have the same things right....??? WRONG....

Ive complained about it in the past, but went up there this weekend, surely they'll have the snow jacket i want, it is after all winter.....WRONG!!! the majority of the clothing is now womens (none of which will actually fit my girlfriend - shes not a tall size 8 model...), and what there is for guys is plain boring t's jeans and jackets...

Oh and nothing had any prices on!!

Went to snowboard asylum just round the corner and spent of £600 on non-oakley clothing....

I feel let down to be honest...

London is nothing to write home about its a fashion shop aimed at the covent garden regulars.... There used to be an action bike 10 minutes walk away that had some real good (and occasionally rare) stuff in, but shut down shortly after the o'store opened....

But then again at the london ski and snowboard show Oakley UK had a stall with only one £150 jacket on it (not for sale) - and not one other shop had any new Oakley clothing - bit p**sed as I only went up there to buy the Oakley Mystic jacket....

second on the clear anti fog goggles, or clear lenses in frames. Any tint will reduce your visibility and on a bike thats not what you need and the two you're talking about (hi blue or hi int yellow) will be great whilst theres any yellow or white light but take that away and you may as well be blind.

Ive tried most things in over 20 years of riding bikes and at night clear is the only way to go...

one of the disco riders was wearing something a bit different, only caught a side view as he walked past a camera, but looked like frameless wires, but with a thicker, sculpted arm (and they werent 00's....

A friend of mine has vip passes for a couple of the stages, ill see what he can get.....

Graham watsons website is also good for O spotting at the tour, as he has daily updates of just about everyone....

London, Action Bikes O shop - GONE!!!!!

Mainly cos the O store has opened in Covent Garden.

This shop has served me very well (and some of you guys in the US - Carbon/blue Ichiros (various pairs), free Armstrong posters etc etc) always helpful, enthusiastic and most importantly knew what they were talking about, and always had a hotline to O HQ (uk)...

Not anything I can say about Covent garden....

It'll be sorely missed guys, thanks for all your help over the last 5 years......

If anyones in London pop into the bike shop they've still got some of the old stock, dont know if anythings being knocked out cheap though....
