i am going round in circles on making a decision on where to go on our honeymoon next august, so i thought id see if anyone can suggest any new options.

its going from the uk, next august, we are looking for 2 weeks, beachy holiday.
flight time is maximum 13-14 ish hours due my other halfs heart condition.

we have ruled out the following due to the fact the weather is rainy season-maldives, mauritius, thailand, in fact most of asia and carribean.

we have looked at seychelles, but quite pricy, and are currently looking at bali.

has anyone got 1st hand experience on bali in august and/or any recommended resorts?

if anyone has any other ideas, it would be great to hear, so we can look into it!

cheers

How about somewhere in the Caribbean mate like Barbados?

Looks awesome for a honeymoon, and I know you said you ruled it out, but the weather is pretty good even through the rainy season due to being one of the more southern islands.

Not as exotic as other destinations, but Corsica could be an interesting one. I've not personnaly been there but all people I know who went there were amazed by the beauty of our little french island.

Hi,
Bali is a huge Aussie holiday destination.
If you want a good review on Bali. Mike (Warwagon) I think he has had first hand experience of the place.
I have been put off since they blew up the niteclub which killed quite a few of us Aussies a few years ago, but to be fair, best hear from someone who has been reciently.

Columbus, Ohio in August is generally 92 degree with about 95% humidity making it feel like 120 degrees and you sweat instantly. It's like you're sitting in front of a furnace for a whole month. Give it a shot, it'll make you appreciate the weather anywhere you go from then on.

Yes it seems to me that Mike always has an awesome time over there and he makes everyone jealous with the pictures he takes, like living in Australia was not cool enough as it is...

just came back from our Honeymoon on Rhodes and I strongly suggest a visit there, not just for a Honeymoon but to anyone who has never been there for a holiday, the pace of life is awesomely chilled and has loads of cultural and historical sites with loads of other islands within easy reach.

At a push you can even be on three continents in the same holiday, the Turkish coastline in Asia is only 12 miles or so from the northern tip of the island and Tunisia in Africa is just past the southernmost island in the same island groups as Rhodes.

It's a shame you can't go long-haul though, I'd have suggested Bora Bora in the Pacific, crystal clear seas, white sands, sapphire skies. Awesome...just awesome.

Edit: you actually end up in Egypt if you head south, Tunisia is to the south west, had a geography blip, which thankfully doesn't happen often lol
