Yes. The only DC is read is the old horror/mystery ones, but those aren't really related to any Comic canon. My main interest is the era from when I got into it, so 1993-2000 basically.

The old horror/mystery ones are good for sure.

Reading House of Secrets got me into Swamp Thing which was good. Plus it had Bernie Wrightson art.

Took years to get this. I missed the original run because at the time I wasn't sure if they would continue the main Uncanny X-Men run, or move to just story arcs. Unable to afford both, I gambled that they would resume the main line. They did (years later) but not before I let the first printing go. The after market pushed it up to $300, so I waited. Other reprints started to appear, so I stayed patient and eventually it did come back. However, it was backordered immediately upon release. I gave up and went to Ebay, which had finally returned to the sub-cover price.

For those who grew up with the X-men animated series in the '90s, the packaging for this upcoming 1/6 Wolverine figure by Mondo will make you giggle:

I do get tired of all these crowd-funding campaigns. Admittedly, there are some brilliant ideas and products being produced (like HasLab stuff), but the 8-month to year-long waits are wearing thin, especially since the target ship dates are always missed. I've never been all that patient.

That said, the last Marvel Made crowd-funding campaign is awesome and recently shipped:

The Chris Claremont X-men Paragon collection is awesome since the main faux leather wrapped book contains a hand-written X-men quote by the man himself. Very cool. It came with a whole bunch of other stuff (including a COA limiting the production to 2,180), but it was the signature and hand-written quote that sold me:

Yep, sure did. Still awaiting the Sentinel as well, which should hopefully ship sometime this fall.

Were all the hand-written quotes the same? If not, what was yours?

I haven’t opened the shrink wrap on my copy yet so not sure which quote I got, but there are 4 quotes:

I’m the best at what I do
Bub, you just signed your death warrant
Welcome to the X-men - hope you survive the experience
Professor X is a jerk

That's super cool. There's also the other limited one with slipcase for $600. And an Amazing Spider-man as well.

Chris Claremont announces his new X-treme X-men series at SDCC this year. Given Claremont hasn't written anything good in over 3 decades, this series will likely suck. However, artist Salvador Larroca (who drew the original X-treme X-men series from 20 years back) is still using Oakley X-metal in his art!

Here is Bishop wearing some Romeos. I think Rogue wears a Juliet on a variant cover but I could not find a hi res pic of that cover:

Sad news in the comic community this week when Alan Grant (Batman, Judge Dredd) died at age 73. He will be missed. RIP

It's been an especially bad year for passings in the comic book/manga industry. George Perez, Tim Sale, Kazuki Takahashi, Neal Adams, and of course Alan Grant.

This is a cool one. Didn't expect it to be this small though. Was a surprise to see the included cards in the back. Under the dustjacket is the artwork from the card box.

Nice. I got that a couple days back as well. I bought it mainly for the free cards in the back. I knew it would be super small after watching Cartoonist Kayfabe review it on YouTube a while back (Ed Piskor is one of the channel’s hosts and did the foreword for the book), but I was attracted to the freebie cards. I recommend their channel for those who grew up on ‘90s comics.

Get them early. They go out of print fast and then it takes 10 years for a reprint.

Not a bad choice for your first one IMO.
