Hey Josh.... just had another though that may make the frame stand out even more. Try using a Matte surface to photograph on.

I black card or similar... that way i feel your eyes won't be distracted by or taken away by the reflections. It puts more emphasis on the frame, and keeps you looking at.
Its the one thing about the Oakley photos, never enough detail.
Good luck and look forward to seeing the results.

I can take away the base that I use for the reflections. It is a photo-tent, so the backgrounds are all that fuzzy non reflective material. I will play with that and see how it looks.

Okay, here are the Chrome Patriotic Dogs shot at F/22 ISO 100 98mm zoom

And the Candy Clear Patriotic Monster Dogs also shot the same settings

And the pair together on both black and white backgrounds

Thanks Mike. The clear one has the sig on the opposite stem in blue...kind of hides it a lil haha

Keep shooting them on white background Josh.... it truly does make the frames look better. Would love to see that matte black Pitboss on white at f22.

Great stuff.

Also nice pic, Mike.

Oh, and doc, I think the best option is just to add that lens to your set and keep the tower :P

Good to see this thread alive again !
Josh, you should try not to close your lens as much as f/22
If you look at your Splice serie, you'll notice that you get less details on the orbitals at f/22 than at f/14. This is caused by diffraction.
You can get a little closer to your object and put less focal length, this will give you more depth.
Anyway, this picture of the patriot dogs is insane ! I love those !

You could always jump into the world of focus stacking.

Francois, I can't get any closer with this lens. I am at the limit of the distance for focus on the 70-200mm. 1.2m is it, and I am pushing it hard lol. I will try in between on the settings and see if I can't get a happy medium between the distance and f stop settings

What the hell is focus stacking? All chinese to me...Or should I say, all Oakley hahaha

yah, that is my ultimate goal, but things are not moving as I intended, and it is taking up some real estate in the house. Dropping my square footage was a real drain on my necessity and luxury items lol. It's only temporary though...Hoping to make one final move mid to late next year and finally buy a house again.

They mispelled the name. C turned to a K, and swapped with the N. I instead of an A.

Heh, but nice pickup. Is this a move from crop sensor to full frame.

I never got one for my 5D II, and I wish I had. The older 40D feels so much more rugged.

D800 feels very similar to the D300S in size and the controls...hence why I bypassed the D600, bit smaller like the D7000 and the some of the controls were missing...will get the grip soon...expensive though at around $450...

Plus an extra battery. I remember why I didn't buy it now.
