hi everyone, haven't posted here for a while now.. so please bear with me for the idea i'm coming up with for Oakley.., for those who cannot wait, jump down to the last 3rd paragraph :

first off, nice to see new x-metal, half-x, definitely getting one with the tungsten iridium..

haven't gotten myself any new oakley sunglasses over the year too.., sold off(sorry) my collection of juliets including the rubies, kept a couple left which i love most(a finito, and an emerald ichiro, plus oo blue lens), and that's it. but no worries, the force(madness) is still strong with me.., yup it is.., from sunglasses i've moved to Oakley apparels.., short sleeve shirts mostly.. :D

anyways, for the past year, i've gotten into photography, amateurish one that is. it serves well as a hobby to fill the gap time between work n sorts.

Oakley's bags and backpacks are notoriously famous. we all know that. the wicked design, high quality materials, and the icon, a little O badge that's so addictive combined with everything else mentioned or not.

so, the DSLR market is growing, not just growing but it's booming over the couple of years, you can read that in every other news channel/newspaper/etc.

as an Oakley fan, and a photographer, i know for sure if there's an Oakley DSLR Camera Backpack, i wouldn't even think twice and get it instantly!

so there, camera backpacks/shoulder bags + oakley = a potentially very good product. hope someone at Oakley HQ reads this..

I still need them to make a decent functional messenger bag. Not a computer bag that looks like a messenger bag and not a messenger bag that looks like WW1 surplus.

I would like an SLR backpack, and had hoped that one would come out, but there's nothing to suggest that it will happen at any point.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet, what with JJ's interests involving photography.

A decent pack for mountain biking too - Something similar size to the camelbak mule but better + hold 3L of water

I too was hoping that with the fact Jim is a huge photography nut, and his influence, there would be a DSLR case/backpack made...I can only see someone like him making a truly functional case that isn't like a Lowepro where it has a condom to pull out and protect it from the elements. Maybe one more like the harsh snow jackets that are coated to repel water and have tapped seams with zippers covered so the elements don't effect the gear...A kitchen sink/wet dry hybrid with compartments you can move and assign purpose!!!! I am all for it! Funny thing is, then I can justify the money for a backpack like that. I paid $100 for my slingshot Lowepro, and am not at all happy with the investment...

Coolest DSLR backpack on the market in my opinion:

I remember a while back when I attended the TorontO-Store Launch Party, there was a rep who was also a big photography nut and he had customized the interior of his Hardshell backpack.

This was the ultimate bag cuz it protected the equipment from any hard shock, water, snow, dirt, anything.

I have always wanted a SLR bag from oakley. I love my two Icon Backpacks but I really need the compartments to hold my lenses and camera body separate and such. The python backpack looks cool. I have a bag from crumplerbags.com that is similar but doesn't have as many smaller compartments as the python.

wow, great responses n stories, i especially like the O-rep that customized his hardshell into a DSLR case..

yeah, mountain biking is also a great market for Oakley, pretty much everyone i know who's into mountain biking is into oakley.

maybe someone should PM JJ? i remember he used to post here? is he still around?

Wouldn't matter, he asked me to disable PM-ing for his account.

That is an amazingly nice camera bag... but for those on a budget of less than $350, I've found this Kata bag works amazingly well!

Holds what you need, some extra, plus a laptop if you want to Eye-Fi your photos straight to your Mac Book Air. Yes yes, I'm a nerd haha ;)

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is turning into a strictly SLR-backpack conversation so unless you wanna discuss the Oakley aspect any further, let's move this to Off-Topic please.

It's a very interesting subject but let's try to keep it OAKLEY up here.

Thanks.
