I've got a tremendous job opportunity coming up in the next month or so and will likely be moving to Davis, California this summer. This is, well, huge for me, as the longest I've ever spent away from home is a week. (Yes, I still live with my parents. No laughing!)

I still haven't gotten my head totally around it yet, but I am unbelievably psyched anyway. It's going to be freakin' epic. :D

Don't know why I'm posting this. Just had to get it off my chest, I guess.

Cool man. My first move out of my parent's house was to a small Japanese village so I kind of know what you are going through. It's exciting. But, you have to learn to cook for yourself QUICK! LOL

Best of luck.

Godspeed to you Michael, and congrats on the job opportunity.

Also, I think it's very appropriate that you posted it. One of the most unique characteristics of an online community like OR is that it will travel with you. As long as you've got a connection, you've got comrades to interact with. So keep us posted on how things go with the move and the job.

Good luck Michael, takes a lot of guts, frightning but exciting at the same time I assume.

It will all work out, it always does.

It will all work out, it always does.
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok...it's not the end.
