Like it says, just a place to post good O-pictures. I figured I'd start this since I enjoy taking pictures of stuff I already have, even if it isn't a "latest purchase," and even if it's not part of my personal collection. Case in point -- the door. This is an HDR shot designed to make the door look edgy/grungy:

Here are a couple shots of my Crosshairs that I just took:

And here are some random shots I've posted recently in other threads:

Let's see what you've got!

Here's a shot of the X-Metal XX sitting on a red sheet, giving the illusion of deep ruby lenses:

that is just hot bro! you should shoot for Oakley, the creativity and use of lighting is plain awesome! you would think with the way the colors come out that it was a ruby quartz lens! You are using the Nikon D80 I think, right? I thought I read in a previous post you were. You and Ollie know how to use your cameras, I am still in the learning and getting the hang of DSLR phase

Great to see people merging their love of the O with their love for photography. The two compliment eachother quite nicely. Looking forward to seeing more of what you guys got cookin'.

Here are some shots I did of an X-Metal XX with Keystone Ruby Quartz lenses. I did not keep the lenses, so these pictures never made it into the "latest purchase" thread. Enjoy.

Can you send me some info on the lights you use. You've upped the ante for quality.

Thanks, I hope more follow your lead.

Thanks for the kind words, Dann. I'm glad this thread gets your stamp of approval.

As far as lights go, those two X-Metal XX shots were taken with a single off-camera flash. I use the Nikon SB-600, because I can fire it off-camera from my D80 without using any other equipment. However, what kind of flash you use isn't important. What's important is to get the sucker off camera! This can be accomplished with a sync cord, or radio remotes (about $20 on eBay from a seller called "gadget infinity"). What's important is where the light is, and how you use that light.

Learn how to light at http://www.strobist.com

Setup for the X-Metal XX shots:
Flash is camera right, about two feet from the glasses, firing through a sheet of printer paper sitting about eight inches from the glasses. There's another sheet of paper, sitting flat on the table in front of the glasses just out of frame, providing the white curved reflection in both lenses.

You know who would really enjoy this thread, I believe his name was Dave and he took some really cool shots. Anyone remember him? He had a great pic of the side off a cliff in Hawaii and another as he was carrying equipment on the beach. I love that O-photography is getting a push with this thread and the quality shots that are going up. Viva la revolution!

No, a factory custom from Total_O. There was also a Ruby R2 with really red lenses.
