I just got a pair of Square Wire 2.0s. Awesome pair of Oakleys, personally. Something I'd like to know though, a day or two after I got them, I put them down on me table and I noticed that the right ear stem is slightly higher than the left.
Is this normal/fixable? I'm not really sure myself, could be because of the time I accidentally sat on them. I'm still pleased with it nonetheless, but it'd be nice to know.
What do you mean by uneven? When I lay down my A Wire 2.0 SH one stem is about 1-2 mm off the table. I don't sweat it. I've heard of people bending the wires but that sounds dicey, especially since the offset could be anywhere from the nosebridge to the hinge to the stem.

Yeah, the right ear stem is about a few mm off the table. I am honestly not thatsure whether it came to me that way or not; I've tried bending them but it didn't do much good, what with the material Oakley uses.
I still look assassin-like with them on anyway, and I had been eyeing them since two months before so I'm happy I have them, regardless of this unevenity.
It happens. You can flex the frame by grabbing each stem and pulling one up, one down slightly. Some x-metals I have do that same thing. Actually the only one that's exactly perfect is my old Mars.

I have actually seen a lot of different Oakley with one earstem a couple of mms off the table. People would complain at SGH after they bought them all the time. You can bend the wires and straighten them out, but it's usually no problem if one is higher. I have always been told that one ear is higher than the other anyway. I even think my Juliets are like that and my RX O5

It is certainly commonplace for most wires.
Like Dann said, grab each stem, and gently pull one up,and one down slightly.
Happens lots on x-metals as well.
There again,it could have something to do with you sitting on them???????

exactly, ive got the same thing on my WHY3 they used to be even but i think its my head/ears that have moved the earstems after years of use.
I wouldnt worry about it.
If you send them to Oakley for warranty service they will just bend the frame back for you. It happens a lot and can be caused by a number of things. Simple solution, bend it yourself. Grab the glasses with the front of the lenses facing your stomach and one stem with each hand with your thumb, index and middle fingers about 1/2"-1" away from the hinge. If the left hinge is higher than the right then bend the left hinge down and the right hinge up at the same time just slightly (or vice versa). Set them down on the table again to check progess and repeat as neccessary. (This sometimes works on plastic frames) I gaurantee if you break your glasses using this method and your are in the US Oakley will repair your glasses under warranty (for the $29 processing fee at most, possibly free if you explain what you did).
I have had this problem with both my square wire and my a wire (both spring hinge)
due to the spring hinge I dont like to mess about with them. I usually go to any optician that carries O. In the UK Black and Lizars are great. They take you through to a room to see an optometrist who will fit them exactly to your face. This may result in one stem being higher than the other but this will be by design rather than accident. As mentioned earlier one ear is usually higher than the other so an even set of stems isnt always a good thing.

it might help to add that I didnt buy any of my O's there but they are hardly going to ask to see the receipt and besides they are O dealers which (as far as I am aware) means they are obliged to attend to any minor O related issues such as this
