Today, Barth posted on oakley-fr.com, the french speaking oakley fanatic site, that the Paris O-store, the only O-Store of France has definitely closed his doors yersterday.

I'm really disgusted !

Man this is bad, it was open less then a year right ?

I am really surprised that Oakley seems to give up so soon, probably related to costs or something.

Maybe you will hear something real soon from one of your contact Francois...

There will be a lot of stuff at the next sale !

Yes, opened for about a year.
Maybe the cost of the store was too much important compared to the sales ... we don't know.
No need to call them, some members has already gone there today and the ensign ( I don't know if it's the good word) has been removed ...

Keep in mind that was a franchise not Oakley owned.

Totally. Also keep in mind the French penchant for oversized, overpriced gaudy designer brands...a hard market to crack for anyone.

This, taken from today's French News source; When asked why they were closing, the Oakley franchise owner simply answered "We felt it was time to surrender."

You're right Rick. I was at my fav. OPD last week, and some girls looked at some really big oliver people glasses and said :" hmm not big enough !" (I hope they were really talking about the glasses o_O).

YES IT SUCKED!!! I went all the way to france and got engaged on tues. Then weds to go play at the O-store, got there and no sign up. Asked a guy who worked there what was up and said they were "Fin" (insert french accent). It was kind sad wearing my O shoes, O Jacket, O Polo, O Backpack, and Art C hijinx- they wouldnt let me in, they just kept boxing the stuff up. Attempted a "dumpster dive" with no luck. Sad day but I did get an RX vault from the sunglass shop NEXT DOOR!!! So kinda worth it.

You should have come to Poland! We have beer in McDonalds here. So you can have a Royale with cheese (probably, I haven't actually checked the menu) and a few beers. Plus the beer is 6.5% alcohol.

On the bad side there is no authorised Oakley importer in Poland and only three shops which sell Oakleys (four if you count the new SunglassesHut which has had a single pair for the last nine months).

Not bad. I think you have topped though with Beer Vending Machines on the streets here in Japan! God I love this country!

Beer Vending Machines sound cool but who wants to be fumbling with change at 4am while well under the influence. Much easier to walk into a 24-hour booze store and there are plenty of those here!
