Hello guys,
As I said in the title, I need to know really fast how to dismantle a double wide tower.
If someone can post pics of bolts and all, that will be really appreciated.
And could you please tell me the bolts size.

Thanks for your help

The only thing i can think of is to remove the rivets in certain places .... so take to it with a drill. Then when it goes back together use the same size rivets.

The bigger question is why do you want to dismantle it in the first place

I don't think they come apart. When they are shipped they are shipped in one piece.

you would have to find a gear puller or similar tool to press each rivet out (number every one as you go) and you would have to press them all back in, one by one...They aren't meant to be dis-assembled. Not easily. Find aircraft rivets that match in case you slip up and damage them, but being that they are aluminum, you will be really lucky not to damage them.

I think it might be easier to dismantle the military presence in Iraq

I agree Tick, but I think re-assembling the tower may be easier and look better in the end!!

Huuu !
I did it, there are some rivets that are not real ones. They are simple bolts. So the only things you need is an open-end wrench, and a little hammer
Men, it was a real moment of pain. This thing is so hard to dismantle !!!

But now, I have something special to put in "my latest purchase" Yiiiiihaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!

Merci beaucoup Eric, j'en ai bavé pour la démonter et au final, j'ai pas vraiment réussi à la démonter totalement, donc je l'ai mise comme elle était dans la voiture et j'ai roulé avec le coffre ouvert.

Did you take photos of how you took it apart? Would make a cool little "how to" if you did.

I didn't take any pics, but there is a thread on oakley-fr.com where there are pics of a dismantled tower. I'll ask to the owner if I can post pics here.

I'm working on a "how to" just by taking pictures of which bolts can be removed and how to dismantle this tower. But I won't dismantle my tower again, 'cause this a real pain.

Just to show that a double tower (and of course a simple or triple) can be dismantled, here is a picture from Natas, a member of oakley-fr.com.

And an other one :

Notice that you'll have to unscrew 62 screw nuts if my count is good.

Now, who ever did this...has some huge balls...crazy! I was already questioning myself when I took the top off to install the LED light and run the wires thru the side support...But DAMN! This is madness...

The lowest part is the hardest to dismantle because there are bolts hidden behind a metal panel on each side ... well what I say is not very clear, but look the underside of your tower if you can, you'll see these metal panels where are inserted the little feet.I don't succed in unscrewing these bolts.

Hello guys, for the ones who move or for those who have an opportunity on getting a tower but who have a too small car like me, the "How To" is available here :
http://www.uploading.com/files/TKQDXA23/How_to_dismantle_a_double_wide_tower.pdf.html

If someone has a better place for the file, feel free to tell me, because uploading.com is very slow and you have to wait before downloading ...
