After checking out pix of the lobby at O HQ again, I got an idea when I saw ejection seats...no, I did not buy a ejection seat...but I bought this:

Once I am done with whatever I will do with it, it will become part of my display. I always wanted one, and why not spice it up with possibly some Oakley related stuff (decals and/or airbrush). The cool thing is it is COMPLETE with Oxygen Mask and Visor. Hmmmmm...maybe it can be tied in with some "Mad Science" and "SI" flavor...we shall see what comes around...

(PS: Since I am struggling getting the Juliet project to turn out the way I want it, and need to do some more research and exploring, I opted for this project until I get all the info and solution in place...)

I love that deck hat...but can't find it anywhere...there was one on ebay for $444 couple month ago...but that is a little more than I would want to spend on it...

These Aviator Helmets are so dope. Gotta figure out where to put it now so I do not junk up the cases...maybe on top of the double wide? We shall see...

I found it on ebay...you can get the helicopter ones ranging from 150-350usd. However, the Fighter/Aviator Helmets got for 400-600usd (depending on condition and model) without Oxygen mask, and with Oxy 550-1200usd (depending on condition and model).

Here comes the kicker...I paid $145 SHIPPED!!!! LOL..I love deals!!! He said the foam on the inside could be replaced, but is still fine. Here is what he said in the auction:

Honestly, it could have no foam on the inside at all and I would not care...Not like I will wear it going shopping...LOL...even though that would be an 'eye-catcher'...or shall I say 'attention whore'

That's gonna be one crazy ass combo. I've always thought about getting an aviator helmet with the visor and Oxygen mask, but I couldn't justify $800 for one, seeing as how I'm not a military collector. One day though. I'll live vicariously through you for now, if you don't mind.

All this reminds me of that pic Oakley had a while back with the fighter pilot wearing Crosshairs. Can't wait to see your custom.

I was not planning on getting one either until I came across this one. I have been looking all day today and had 24 of them on my ebay watch list...Then I found this one with a starting bid of $35...I emailed the asking for a buy it now option..and he added $120+25s/h...No wonder I pulled the trigger on it...The other ones were all going for $200+

Just in case someone is interested...do a ebay search for HGU...or Gentex HGU..there is the exact helmet on there right now with 16hrs to go for $415+37s/h...still counting...

I will definitely keep this thread updated...I might go with a simple decal solution for now until I decide what airbrush/paint I want...should be awesome either way...As mentioned above..I'm thinking "Mad Science" and "SI"...but I'm also debating the "Skull"...we shall see!

Might be nice to use it as a light, put it in the case and then run the cord thru the oxygen hose?

I was thinking maybe put it on and connect it up to a keg of Guinness?

Nik - yeah, bob would be cool, but I am awaiting some x-metal juliet and put my rubys in and then they will be worthy for MR. Bob...I was thinking about getting a cheap display head, since I will have the Oxy on...so I don;t think I want to cover Bob up...but I have to say...I like your idea...ALOT...I just gotta fins a pair of cheap crosshairs...

Scott - thay is also an option, but I am an LED freak..so I would have to look for the right ones...

It has arrived...now I gotta finalize what I wanna do with it...
