I don't think I'd ever seen a +Red heater lens until I bought this one, but I couldn't believe it when I opened it: from deep red all the way to light blue. The pictures posted were the meat of this thread before getting erased, so I thought I'd throw this one up.

yeah, most all the mframe lenses that I have seen lately look similar to yours, they have fubarred it like the did with ruby. I have also seen some with zero blue in them as well and are sick as can be. Some good and some bad!

The larger lenses (pretty much Heater) will show more of the colour transition toward the edges, same with Fire.

Try these bad boys on for size. Not sure how many of these have been out there...Had to have them when I saw them...

A quick question,

there is +Red, +Red polarized, and also 40% +Red.

From personal experience, the +red and +red polarized are pretty similar. (I have a few +red lenses, and lenses cut from the Enduring edge +red polarized lens)

Now, the interesting part. When I got the +red polarized lens, I also was looking at the radar +red polarized lens, but it had more of a bluish tint when looking through it (similar to a ruby lens.) The lens I got had the more standard greyish tint to it. The polarized lens is just a tad bit darker than the regular +red lenses.

At the same time, I was looking at the 40% +red lens, and while the outside coating looked a little bit lighter, looking through it was again almost a cross between a ruby and a regular +red lens. It definitely wasn't even letting as much light through as my emerald slate, or the slate lenses that I compared to in store.

Does anyone know officially what the difference is between +red and 40% +red?

From what I understand, the 40% refers to its satisfaction rating when compared to standard +red. That's how these things usually work...

from what I've seen the 40% +red seems similar in light transmission to Ruby Clear with a little more specular reflectivity on the lens but I've only seen it on a straight jacket, it's more pinkish-red than than deep red to deep blue like normal and polarised +red.

I'm not sure of it being accepted by the +red purists but I think it's a very striking lens, visually it's as eye catching as G26 but more practical for everyday wear

Thanks. I looked at another 40% +red lens yesterday and they seemed quite a bit lighter (as in, they let more light through) than the previous pair that I had looked at. Although, I didn't have my emerald slate lens to look through to compare this time.

Does anyone know if the 40% +red will be released as either replacement lenses for the straight jacket (instead of only with the asian fit stock set) or in other frame options?

Thats I good question Mike, I am not sure if I have seen seperate set of lens for Asian frame sold in America, maybe its different in Japan ?
