ooh good one, that could go either way but I'm tempted to say false...

"Oakley Scars were so named because one of the designers had an accident while in an MTB race, on return to HQ he noticed a faint scarring on the side of his head which became the central design of the earstem of the scars"

Glen Plake made an Oakley Ski video that featured flying dismembered heads, talking cow skulls and skiers with chainsaws.

If a pair of Oakleys hits another pair of Oakleys at 102MPH they will time travel. That's where the new edition Blade came from.

When you melt down an x metal, it looks like a mercury type substance. It then has the ability to take the form of any human being and is known as the Terminator.

I heard that Moses put on Ice Polarized lenses when he parted the sea. Too much glare. But it's just a rumour....

This is becoming the Oakley (False) rumors thread i wanted to start.

so here goes

The Alien in the basement that gave JJ the technology to start Oakley is named Bob

Thermonuclear protection refers to JJ’s past when he was actually a super villain that was building a nuclear device and made the sunglasses out of necessity but found that he made more money making the sunglasses than he was going to extort from the UN.

Thermonuclear protection is really due to the fact that JJ is actually a Vampire and needed sunglasses for that reason. It’s also the reason Oakleys were so prominent in the blade films.

When you mix plutonite with air, you get Michael Jordan and a lawsuit.

Oakley's Plutonite lenses were a total mistake. They were going to use standard lexan, but when mixing the first test batch someone transposed some of the numbers for the ingrediant amounts, creating a much more durable material.

The PLATE sunglasses took so much energy to weld together that the state of california had power-shortage in all of the mayor cities at times that oakley produced them
