In the carbon x demo clip

http://www.rubensmenswear.com/pages/photographs/oakley/footwear/race%20boot/oakley%20race%20boot.htm

does anyone think that the torch is further away from the material during the carbon x demo than in the nomex demo.

Just look at the flame lengths.

It doesn't seem too controversial to me. Tests like that conducted by the same company purporting to be superior generally tend to be a little skewed in their favour. I don't totally buy the "Laser Lens" test that Oakley puts on either, though I have no doubt their lens is optically superior. It's just good marketing really, and I take it only as such.

No need for windows media player.

Just check out the quick time version on this link

Oak, I understand and agree with your reponse but have found that whenever a comment is made whish is in any way "anti O" the offended replies usually come fast and furious (Did you get the racing tie in there, I thought it was a good one, hmmm, hmmmmmm?

Yeah, I hear ya. Still, heated discussion is great for forum.

And yep, I did catch the reference! In fact, I'll be seeing the latest movie today. Actually wanted to see Superman, but you can't win with girls.

look pretty much the same in the video. there are even spacers between the stands for the fabric sample and the torch to show you that they're the same distance. now, as for how much intensitey the torch has in the two tests, really no way to tell.

if Oakley paid for the test though, odds are it's skewed

I know there are all sorts of things like the angle the flame is pointing at, the fuel used etceteras but the length of the flame looked markedly longer.

Ho hum..... not to worry.

Hey Chad, did you just recently stumble into the world of animation. Your certainly getting a lot of mileage out of them today;-)

Neil,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult of times.

However, your attendance at a showing of The Devil Wears Prada does however deserve the Nelson Muntz treatment so.............HA HAA!

Is it the actual superman movie in IMAX format, or just a making of documentary?
