When Juliet first came out there was only one colourway, X-Metal / Black, and the Gold Iridium offerings came shortly after, AFAIK. It was a good while before they got to the Ice, Plasma, Carbon, etc. I wouldn't expect more than 3 or 4 colourways upon release.

Yeah, lets see a purple or white iridium eh?

That sketch is old & I don't think they'll go back to the Earstems on top design like the Gen2 Zeros or the Topcoat.
My hopes for the new X Metal are a very 3-D frame design, high base curve, no spring hinge, & something that will fit bigger heads OK. Aside from that, just work your magic & make us proud Mr. Jannard!

These suck because I only dropped 15 minutes into ideas and renderings while at work, but the thread inspired a couple designs. Basically a bottlecap meeting xmetal and Oakley's new, edge style design.

WIth x-metal being a Ti alloy I dont see there being much difference. If that were ever to be realised I would imagine they would have to us aluminium and even then it would need nose bombs the size of dinner plates:-)

It is however some sketch Bo. The top sketch on the second JPEg in particular has that look about it like it is being worn by an invisible man with a lot to frown about.

Nice drawings but to Gascanny for me.

X-Metal is much heavier and denser than the Ti-Al alloy Oakley uses for things like the T-Wire. X-Metal contains much more Ti, which gives it both the heft and associated indestructability.

Ti will always be an alloy of sorts, but just in different ratios.

I don't think it would beat the Juliet but it is pretty cool.

I don't think many people know what the new x-metal design is going to be regardless if they are OPD dealers or not.

From what I've heard, it's supposed to be based along the lines of the Four/Mag Four, just "edgier" in design.

Sounds like the downfall of the Xmetals to me.

I know that due to the lack of curvature in the four frame there is a lot of reflection/ghosting. Can anyone tell me if this was the same with the mag four?

I wouldn't mind a lower base curve X-metal at all. I've been liking a lot of Oakley's non-8 base curve models such as the Why 3, Four, Mag Four, OO, Fatcat and even Twitch. Probably won't be popular with the masses, but I'd probably like it.

I rather liked the Mags; would've been my RXs if not for the corrosion. A similar looking X Metal wouldn't be too bad.

Is that really what y'all want out of your next X? MAYBE if they bring back the old hinge/icon look, and shape the orbital with the hard corners that stick out like the splice and valve, maybe then it'd be better.

If you look at the temple it could actually be redesigned to support the X Metal Temple shock design but the Switch has been done. I hope they go a very different direction. I'd like to see something with a reversed version of the Crowbar hinge

I agree completely.

Tick, was hoping you could explain this better, because I don't understand it, but it sounds very interesting.

X-Metal Zero or Mars 2. If the XMetals start going to the boxy Gascan designs I might abandon ship.
