- what color lenses are those in the bottom with a vibrant green? Is that a customized G26 on the Juliets?

Wow, it's almost emitting light. If that's emerald, it sure isn't like the one I have.

agreed - if the flash hit the glass just right, it'd reflect from the shelf to the juliets and back to the camera lens

Emerald is right next to it and clearly it's a duller green. I swear it looks like a customized G26 lens

Dann, can you track down who posted this gallery? Any possibility that this is the new Ichiro Emerald Slate?

HEY!
That's my X-Metal collection. The green lense is a custom lens made by a nearby lab. It is green-blue and it is polarized. They are sweet! Happy to clear the confusion, I just found this Forum!

Now here's a question: I know the X-Metal frames are incredible, they're pieces of art, but is it right to have an Oakley without an Oakley lens in it? I don't have an O lens in my scrips but they're just clear so I don't have a problem there, but I don't know if I would want a non O lens in my Oakley sunglasses.

And welcome to the board Mike.

It seems that with upwards of a dozen pairs of X-Metals that Mike can have one or two with optometrist-cut lenses and not worry about being "unloyal".

so that's a custom made lenses!! i was right on the first place!!

after watching the impact video? i don't think it's great idea to replace original 'O' lenses though..

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I was so glad to find all of you so friendly. As I don't generally put myself in a position where 200 MPH projectiles are hurled at my face, I figured it would be OK to put non Oakley lenses in a few pairs.

They are poycarbonate and are shatter resistant, but they are about 2/3 the thickness of an Oakley lens. The clarity is really good and the polarization is quite comopetetive. Best of all, I can get them in red, green, blue, silver and gold, all polarized, for just about any Oakley frame.

I will post pics of just the custom pairs later on today.

Take care, all.

I wasn't really questioning the use of a non O lens because of the shatter resistance. Most polycarbs are shatter resistant. I was just wondering if there would be a noticable difference in the clarity/quality of the lens.

Oh, I see. I'm sory if I sounded like a wise-ass, I was just trying to be funny.

THe clarity is NOt as good as an Oakley lens, but close. The polarization on them is quite good, also.

The lab is within walking distance of my house!

Pics to come!

Hey Cal,

I have 11 or so pairs of X-Metals (on of my Juliets is slated for eBay!). Check out my collection page to see all the lens/frame combos. Do you want serial numbers?
