Can't the G26 cause slight colorblindness after prolonged wear too?

Only for a minute or two I imagine. Even then it's not that strong.

My son is colorblind... wonder if these would help him see colors. If you ever want to see a 6 year old with road rage, ride with him as you stop for a red light. He always thought it was green and would start yelling to race the other cars.

Yeah, but why camo yourself all out (even your face) if your going to put an explosion of color right in the middle of your head? It's not like the enemy will be wearing orange or running around with clay pidgeons stuck to their heads.

Exactly what I was thinking Todd. Kind of defeats the whole point of camouflage really.

The whole idea of being a sniper is not to be seen. It's a bit difficult to miss an iridescent green slab of reflective plutonite no matter how far away you are.

Yeah, that G26 stood out like a sore thumb against his olive drab. When I was looking at it at work it looked like it might have been a photoshopped lense in place of something more normal.
PS Hoots, military guys don't wear anything Iridium in the field. It's all greys (Ever looked at the SI series in the catalogue maybe??)

Edit: Unless they're wearing the laser lense, which is not the same as the G26.

Guys he's not in action yet... That's why he's wearing them. He just bought that, came out of the store and wore them straight away while he still got the chance :)

i think it is the laser-lens , the pic was taken by jay-x-bee , who wrote laserlens underneath his picture

The laser lense should be a flat green though, not Iridium-ized, right?

Jake,
Nope the boy is colorblind for life. It is pretty sad when he tells you that grass looks red and blood looks green. Sky is purple... then of course you get stupid questions from him like " Dad, why is purple, purple?"

As far as the question goes, the polished definately rock the G26 Lenses. I picked up a pair for both of my Roommates; one of them has them in his plasma gen 2 and the other in a gen 1 ducati xmetal frame and i definately say that the polished out performs the other two. I have seen pics of the G26 in a carbon frame ( the same ones shown in this listing ) and it looks pretty sweet, better w/o the red earsocks. Here is what it looks like next to the emerald in a gen 3 plasma frame. BTW, the carbon frames are loaded with +red irr. lenses.

I finally have it! My OPD had to wait 9 weeks until he received the G26 M-frame lens. Then he cut it in half and took the ends off that were sticking out. The rest was all done by a polycarbonate cutter and this is the result:

Do they retain the proper XYZ or are they off a little?

Correct me if I'm wrong but shield or torric lenses dont have XYZ so you basically turn them into a gascan style lens.

On another note. I may attempt to cut a Romeo 2 lens out of a G26. I'm going to look into the degree of difficulty tonight. The notch and screw hole are the only things I'm worried about.

bill, how can you say such a thing? Unless i am wrong I think the xyz thing was about the pure clarity of our lenses designed to that no matter how you look through the lens, x axis y axis, or how far you look (near/far), z axis, then it will always be clear. it also has to do with the vary-ing thinkness of the lens from center to edge to help maintian that optical purity. or so thats what i was told at the corp training i went to :)

from how i understand it we were told all oakley glasses (no matter what style lens) had oakleys HighDefinitionOptics which were a two part thing of xyz and plutonite lenses.
