Best place to Download music/movies

I just got a new MP3 player and need to know where to go to get music/movies. Which one is best? I was told a year ago limewire was the best but things might have changed by now.

soulseek is pretty good for rare music, but it doesn't work most of the time from where i live. very slow internet connection. lolz.
